My last day with my FD
It sucks but today is going to be my last day with my fd bc im working on a trade for a S14 + cash and this trade is going to happen Sunday.
The reason why im getting rid of the FD for a S14 is bc i need a more normal car to daily drive and money is a problem.
I went through alot with this car its my first car and i learned alot about the rotary through this car and the forum. I first got this car when i was 16 and im about to turn 19 and i went through 3 engines and 3 different body styes. I was young but i did alot of the work my self but when i had a problem i took the car to some shops my first shop i went to was Aerodyne but later on i went to Lucky 7.
I just wanted to vent out bc i put alot of work in to this car, alot of money, alot of time, alot of passion and its my first car so to let it go is kinda hard but its something i have to do.
Also here are some pics of the different stages the car was at...
The first week with the FD and the engine blew that same day
The first time i removed a engine and replace it with a 95 jdm motor
During the time i replace the engine i wanted to do the exterior but i should of slap myself for putting this exterior setup on my car
After that i didn't like the look of it so i ripped everything off and went with a custom widebody by asuka

The finished product
My first photoshoot with Nitto tires
My first SevenStock event
After that my twins went bad so i went single
After that my Single turbo went bad and i didn't have the funds to fix anything so i went NA for the time being
That was the last time i touched it and later on i posted it forsale/trade and i found i perfect car to trade it for + cash it was a S14.

dude, sorry you have to get rid of it... come back to the rotary world some day. I have had mine a year, and had my doubts because it is very expensive to own.... not because it breaks, but because its so fun to upgrade

Every time i had money i had to buy something for the FD that was one of my problems it was like a drug. LoL
Im definitely going to get another FD later on in my life but one thing i was thinking about was swapping a 13b in the S14. LoL

Yah define autoworks did it i talk to them and they said they could build me the mounts and stuff but thats still along way from happening.
It would be cool to take your car for a test drive but i don't think i want to drive a FD its going to remind me to much of mines.
The FD is going up to Norcal.

Oh well.....
BTW.. Why sell the FD? Pick up a Honda as a daily. I got my 93 hatch for $2k... Granted I threw $6k at it, but it's SUPER reliable and fun to drive. FD sits in the garage tucked away from the world.

Im super low on cash and i don't want any car for a daily driver it has to be clean and something i like.
Also where i live i don't want to leave any of my cars on the street and my garage could only fit one.

Thanks for the compliments
The first motor blew bc of heavy driving, 2nd was a jdm motor from a junkyard so the condition of it wasn't good so the water seals ended up going bad and the 3rd motor is in the car right now and so far so good. Its really just 2 motors that went bad.
Reason i didn't get a rebuilt was bc i got good deals on used stuff but i should of just got a rebuilt to save alot of headaches.

Ah man....sorry to hear that. You did a lot of top-notch work to that car. Looks really good.
In retrospect, would you say you spent too much on it? Or, given a chance to do it all over again....would you opt for keeping it stock and using the funds for other things? What, if anything, would you do differently? I just ask because your story could/should influence other FD owners, especially the younger ones.

If i had a chance to do it all over again i would of kept the exterior oem and spend all the time and money in the performance and suspension section. The widebody is nice and all but nothing could beat the oem look of the FD. But the only thing i don't like about that is that every ones fd would look the same and being different is what i wanted.
But another thing is i don't think i should of started off with a FD as a first car not to mention i didn't know anything about a rotary. I did the opposite of most owners i got the car first then i started to browse the forum it should be the other way around.
I've also heard alot of storys about people going from a 240sx to a FD which is much better than going from a FD to 240sx as a first car.

Im not into to body kits or young kids owning fds period these days. However, that is one beautiful rx7, sucks you didnt get the engine issues sorted sooner, you may have been able to keep the car.
