moisture coming out of the exhaust....?

I dont know if its water or what, but when i first start my car up in the morning there are little black drops of some kind of liquid that come out. Is this normal? I just noticed it because it got on my leg when i stood behind it. After driving it, however, the drops are gone. What do you think it is?

If im not mistaken, dosen't the catalyst converters turn your exhaust gas into water and carbon monoxide/dioxide i forget which one. Also, your exhaust pipes can't be too clean so maybe thats why the liquid is black.

Yea, it's pretty normal. It's just the condensation in your exhaust spitting out.

Pretty freaky the first time you see it as most people think it's oil.

Very normal. It's more noticeable when it's colder out.

Be a rebel, touch it with your finger and smell it.

That will solve all your worries down the road. Its pretty cold out now, so it seems to happen more when its chilly out. Its just water/condensation like mentioned before..

Arrow Oil in exhaust with condensation

Normal, condensation after you turn off your car (exhaust on these cars is much hotter then a regular car) and the exhaust cools with all the oil in the exhaust from the engine and turbos will make little puddles of black crude on the ground after it cold soaks and you start it again. Start it up again and as it gets hot will push out water and evaporate the rest. Pretty much all turbo engines do this (at least high horsepower ones do) so don't worry.

Make sure it's not anti-freeze. Does it smell sweet? Dab it with your finger and taste it (then spit it out). Is it sweet? If it is... my condolences. I remember the day after I bought the car. I notice a shitload of vapor comming out and I nearly shitted my pants. I instantly thought it was coolant. Vapor looks very white in cold humid weather. But it wasn't so, phew.....
