Mobil 1 synthetic Engine oil yes/no??
Ive seen on several sites that you shouldnt run certain synthetics in a rotary engine. However I was cosidering running Mobil one. Has anyone here been succesful in using mobil 1 sythentic engine oil.

I've been using Mobil1 as well for over a year. 15w50 in the hot texas summers and 10w30 in the winter. As per my power fc commander, engine temps under all conditions dropped ~5 degrees C (9 F) and the car revs noticeably smoother. Turbos seem to spool quicker too

Mmmmm... A trunk full of goodness in my usual 56k-friendly thumbnail.
Kickass custom car cover, Mobil 1 15w-50 fully-synthetic engine oil, Marvel Mystery Oil
I can't seem to find the Fram or the Bosch high-performance oil filters. Where do you get these? I haven't checked everywhere, but I've tried the major auto stores.

As I said b4 so many time, all Japanese Rotary speciality shop have their own full syn oil. So Full syn is safe for rotary. Mobil 1 is the best mass production syn oil out there. It may not be as good as redline and neo. But it will do the job.

Mobil 1 is all I use in my rx-7 and I still change it every 2000-2500 miles. I use the purolator filters designed for 2nd gen rx-7s as they are larger. Stay away from fram. They are very cheeply constructed with paper endcaps on the inside.

Fram oil filters were good at one time, but that was at least 6 years ago.
I use the Purolator Pure 1 filter in all my vehicles, including my John Deere lawn tractor.
It just so happens that my motorcycle and 3rd Gen use the same size. So, I buy four at a time when they are on sale at Advance auto.
I believe the part is PL14459
It is larger than the stock 3rd Gen filter, but it fits. I've been using them for about 18 months now, no problems.
I also have been using Mobil 1 15/50 for about 12 months now, no problems.

If you replace youre oil every 2K or less it makes sense to use dino juice if you go longer between oil changes synthetics might be worth it.But beware the added expenses of synthetics dosent mean longer engine life on a FD, when the dreaded o-ring failer strikes it dosent matter what oil you are using.I say save youre money and upgrade youre cooling system this will help youre motor live longer.

I'm with you. Remember those commercials where they have synthetic in a hot frying pan and nothing happens to it? I figure it's more resistant to burning than regular dino juice and could coat the combustion chamber and clog the cat over time. If you're changing every 3,000 miles anyway, why take the chance?
