![Question](https://www.rx7club.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Just received the RX7 Store hi-flow cat for the '94 FD and pondering whether the changeout is a DIY project. Any thoughts? If the consensus is that it is, any hints?

If you still have the stock original exhaust and it has never been pulled before this may be out of your league. If the exhaust has been removed before this is a very simple and straight forward procedure. Like mahjik said it is possible the bolts have become one with the midpipe which can make the job very difficult.

I've got about a year with this midpipe and only regular starts and short drives for the past couple of months since the teenage son got tagged with an exhaust noise violation and got whacked in the driver's side rear 1/4 panel by a drugged out skank in an old Nissan. Actually snapped the upper control arm on that side in two! Arm is replaced and car all lined up again - no frame damage.
I'm thinking that the bolts may not have had enough time to become inseparable from the pipe. Thanks for the hints. Clearly the top forum for rotary owners. Time to pass California smog!

Good idea pink. Next step after the cat install will be to get the FD to R & R Rotary here in So Cal and have Steve fix a front cover or front seal leak (don't know which), tune the car with the cat in place and recommend how I keep the boost and air/fuel mix under control. I also have an HKS induction installed as well so lots of air coming in.
