Ramps
Several years ago I looked all over the place for a good set of gen III RX7-friendly ramps and finally found what I wanted at Griot's Garage. Here's the link
http://www.griotsgarage.com/search.j...=15&search.y=8
* They are easy to store and take up no more room than normal ramps
* They have the same height as normal ramps
* They allow a gradual climb, so they are easy to drive up, without back wheel spin,
etc, and without ascending so fast that you finish up in the living room
* They have enough ground clearance for the front of the RX
* They are easy to "assemble." Each ramp stores in two pieces for space saving. The
pieces quickly lock together in a pretty foolproof manner.
* They are wide enough to accomodate the full width of the standard RX tire.
In short, I've had 'em for several years and I love 'em.
They're a bit steep (sorry!!!) at $60 (+$10 shipping), but well worth it if you're doing a lot of work with your RX.
And, no, I don't get a cut from Griot's!!!!

To answer your questions about the ramps though, iirc they were under $150 per pair range.

I use a low rise jack, and some jackstands. Just takes a few min to get the car proped up and has always worked well for me. I see you are from Wisconsin as well, if you are from the Milwaukee area you are welcome to borrow my low rise jack and stands.

As with most owers, I can't get a floorjack under my car starting out. The low profile jacks typically don't raise as high as a normal floor jack so that wasn't an option for me.
I use the stock jack on one side on the front to raise it up enough to get my floor jack under the the front. Once I have the front on jack stands, I repeat the same for the rear (raise it a tad with the stock jack to get the floor jack under the car etc).
Sounds like a lot of work but it doesn't take that long anymore. But I always use jackstands.

Thats exactly what I used to do....doesn't take long at all once you've done it a few times.

Yep....those are the ones I remembered seeing. I thought they were a little higher though. Apparently I was wrong. Looks like you STILL have to jack up the car when using those ramps. Oh well!

yes, a jack is still required however this ramp gives you the right clearance to roll a floor jack up to the engine cross member. i often leave the ramps in place and pull the car in/out of the garage. quite convienent!
