Mazdaspeed Discontinuing Much of their FD Parts!
Hey guys,
Not that many people buy Mazdaspeed parts anyway, but just thought I'd give you guys a head's up that Mazdaspeed has been steadily discontinuing a bunch of the FD parts they've made for over a decade now. First, a few parts disappeared from their online catalog. Then the FD dropped down to the last car on their list of cars they make parts for. Now, they've dropped the MAJORITY of the parts they make from their online catalog. There are only a few parts left.
In short, if you've always wanted a Mazdaspeed part, but were waiting it out, now is prob. the best time to bite the bullet and get it, while it's still available...because it won't be for long.
And of course, I'd be more than happy to help anyone get whatever Mazdaspeed (or any other manufacturer's) parts they desire
Thanks!

By Mazdaspeed do you mean the racing support arm of Mazda i.e., Mazda Motorsports?
I buy most of my parts from them as they usually can do better than Ray (but you know Ray's THE BEST!!!) i HAVE 2 FDS AND 2 Miata's so $$$ are a major issue. I race my Miata so qualify for the Mazda Motorsports discount.

It seems like MAZDAMOTORSPORTS has reduced their inventory of FD parts over the last year or so too. I guess it's to be expected for a car out of production for (at least) 5 years.

Here's a list of what they still over (and some of the parts they've discontinued in parentheses, off of my memory):
GT Concept Parts:
- Exterior: GTC front bumper, rear wing, 99spec CF front lip, CF center section of rear wing (no hood, sideskirts, undertray, or diffuser, etc)
- Interior: Dash panel/center console cover panel, 300kph speedo & cluster (no seats)
- Performance: Exhaust, Coilovers (standard), springs, front strut bar, PPF, brake pads, clutch, flywheel & counterweight, diff, t-stat, plug wires, and high flow intake filter
R-Spec Parts:
- Exterior: Lens covers, sideview mirrors, and rear wing (single blade style) (no bumpers, skirts, hood, or diffuser)
- Interior: Meter panel (in middle of dash), CF door trim panel, CF rearview mirror cover (no blue 300kph cluster)
- Engine: IC, radiator, AST
- Performance: Bushings, brake calipers & pads (no rotors), strengthened steering shaft, titanium front strut bar, diff (no CF shifter and e-brake handle)
Below is a list of the parts no longer made, but that I can still get for sure (subject to availability):
- Wheels (MS-01 & MS-01S)
- Shocks
- Front & rear sway bars
- 99spec undertray (Mazdaspeed version) & rear diffuser
- GTC rear bumper add-ons/diffuser (around exhaust)
- Mazdaspeed rear wing (Racing Beat style)
- R-Spec rear bumper + diffuser (built-in)
- Dual Oil Cooler kit
- R-Spec Coilovers
- Steel braided lines
- Brake calipers & rotor
- CF dash trim (full)
As for pricing, I'm not here to sell parts in this thread; this was simply a friendly head's up to my fellow members that the parts won't be available much longer - especially the parts that are no longer on the catalog but I listed that I can still get. Those are only available based on stock, and no further will be produced.
Lastly, if there is enough interest, I don't mind running a GB on Mazdaspeed parts in general (ie anything Mazdaspeed). But that would belong in my vendor section, not here. So lets steer away from pricing & sales inquiries here.
Thanks,
~Ramy

Guys, please read my posts. I don't type for fun. I will NOT be posting pricing on this thread; this is NOT a for-sale thread; it's a general head's up to members. I will not be repeating this again.
If you have individual orders you'd like priced/ordered immediately, please follow the same procedure I've outlined countless times before. Email me at Info@FDNewbieImports.com, and put "Mazdaspeed Order" in the subject line.
Thanks,
~Ramy

And when you DO find it, you know it's MINE!!! I'm still upset over that last one that got taken right from under us!

Hmm...that's gonna take some work. I used to have one...but I lost it. And the stock photo they use is pretty lame...
Absolutely. But I'm sorry to tell you, I really don't think it was taken from under us. I fronted a LOT of cash for it, I'm sure no one else was willing to pay that much for it. If you ask me, I think the shop was LAZY, and ASSUMED they could get it despite me telling them MULTIPLE times that it was discontinued. But I HAD to try anyway, just in case they were right, right?

Luckily I have an entire set of Mazdaspeed control arm, differential, trailing arm, anti-roll, and shock mount bushings sitting in my garage. I even have their steering shaft.
Glad I didn't wait to order them because I'm not sure when I'll get the time to install them all.

Thanks Ramy, if you do find one let me know, otherwise I think I will try to find similar oval Ti tubing and make my own custom strut bar...maybe a four point one similar to the Re-Amemiya four point bar.

I've always been curious about it. What's different about it?
NP. I'll see what I can come up with in the next few days. Oh and I've been considering making a LHD version of the RE Amemiya triangle strut bar, but wasn't sure there would be enough interest (and I'm sure you know high quality fab work ain't cheap).

It has the same steering ratio as stock but has X% stiffer rubber - where X is some number that I cannot recall. It is one of those purchases that I am not sure I could fully justify, though good steering feel is nice.
