Thumbs up Mazda Master-Tech Competition/car show -pics

Mazda held it's annual competition this a.m. along with a small employee car show. A few of us SoCal guys popped in to represent.(Maxcooper, Atihun, rxcrazy).

Remember this IMSA GTP 4-rotor? Pete Halsmer and Price Cobb screamed in these beasts in '92, but placed no higher than 2nd behind Nissan/Geoff Brabham and Jag/P.J. Jones and Martin Brundle. Man I miss the Del Mar GP of San Diego and IMSA.. *sniff*

Sweet pics. Good lord that Miata is ugly though. I like the interior, but the exterior ehhh. Kinda looks like it has a camaro/cavalier front end on it.

I don't remember the IMSA car, which engine does it have??

What, no pics of my car? Where's the love, Toadman? (just kidding)

The wheels on carcrazy's car are 18" Volk SE37A.

What car won the car show?

The '32 roadster won, of course. 2nd runner up the El Camino. 3rd was the '57 T-bird. The '65 427 Shelby Cobra was ineligible, obviously. Oh, the camera lens tends to fog over when subject to underhood filth, Max. Actually I have more pics to post. The Mazda guys say thanks for showing up and representing the rotary.

SoCal7's had a conflicting scheduled event, but were aware of it. It was invite only for Mazda Techs and families, who were flown in to compete in a 2-hour troubleshooting competition. Mazda was not prepared to support a mini-Sevenstock nor Miata-Fest.

Nice 427 Cobra(not a replica)

Atihun, get those pics D/L'd yet?

Do you know who won the competition? Bruce Blang, the rotary tech at the dealership I work at, went there to represent the southern region. Was just wondering how he faired .....

The parking lot looks so familiar! Can't wait til SS5. It's great that Mazda is promoting these thing to motivate the techs. What's up with the old Domestic cars? The IMSA was one of my favorite racing league back in early 90s. That IMSA car look familar too. They wouldn't let ppl take pixs of it last year bc it was in the R&D building

Thanks for sharing these pix!
