Not alone. Are you still running the twins? Go single, and it's louder. I'm selling my RB Dual, with less then 200 miles on it, and I'm putting the stock CB back on. I'm looking for about the same sound level as a stock G35 Coupe.

I have been considering a high flow cat, but have not gotten one for that same reason. Which one did you get?

Does anyone know if some are quieter than the others?

Not wanting a loud car does not make you too old

When I went from the stock cat to a Random Tech hi-flow, I had a DP and the Blitz Nurspec. It was only sightly louder, not enough to bother me much. Switching to a Apex N1 Dual (with silencers) was louder still, but not enough to make me want to switch. The biggest change was after going single turbo though, I ordered the RB after that. While its much better sound level wise from before, I'm now looking for something that does not stand out at all.

Another possiblity for lowering the sound is dropping one of those 'metallized' (is that what it's called?) cat inserts. I've seen one that fits inside a 3" exhaust pipe, unlike the www.davesport.com type that needs to be welded in place. We've got emission testing here anyways, might as well kill two birds. I want to say that www.pdoparts.com sells it, but I can't get anybody to respond.

Maybe I'm getting too old (or the cops are getting too uptight about loud exhaust), but I have spent a fair amount of time thinking about ways to make my car quieter than it is (single turbo, MP or HF cat, RB duals). I don't know how well this would work, but it seems like adding some mass and "damping" to the downpipe might help. Get it ceramic coated (a little mass plus corrosion protection and thermal barrier), and then use some header wrap on it. It seems like that might offer some sound level reduction. I haven't tried it yet, but I plan to do that on my car soon.

I used to have a punched out cat (essentially a 2.5" midpipe) and stock catback. I installed the RB dual and Bonez Hiflow at the same time, so I don't have any proof, but I am 99% sure that the Hiflow cat is no louder than a normal cat, it's the RB catback that is loud. My car was quieter with the midpipe and stock CB.

I have a DP, Gotham Hi-Flo Cat, and RB Dual, It not too loud until you get on it! Not saying that 45 is old but it's definitely older than most of the pups on the forum :-).
