Maximum Boost?

Hey what's the maximum amount of boost you can run on stock efini sequential turbo's?

And in order to acheive the maximum output from the turbo's what upgrades are needed?

Read the FAQS. Max boost on stock twins is about 10psi, no more. Get an ECU, you can run more. To be safe, just stick to 10psi. While we're on the topic, stock psi is 10psi, could anyone tell me if its 5psi per turbo which equpals 10, or 10psi per turbo? Thank you.

Both turbos make 10psi, when secondary turbo comes online increases flow rather than pressure.

To run higher boost to be safe you will need an ecu and probably better intercooler. Exhaust mods (free-flowing) will improve the turbos spool up and make them perform a bit better. For ultimate safety factor for higher boost use water injection.

Stock turbos have 270 degree bearings and so are only good up to 15psi (bound to shorten their life as they are being worked harder but you can run over 10psi). Something like BNR stage 3's have 360 degree bearings so can run a bit higher, also can flow more.
*Note* with stock fuel system about 12-13 psi is probably your limit, I run 0.9 bar and injector duty is high 80's % low 90's % so 1 bar (roughly 15 psi I think) will need pump, injectors, FPR to be safe

I have mapped a few to 1.1 bar, past that your producinga load of heat but no more power.
Ideally you need complete exhaust system, decent intercooler, ecu, fuel pump injectors, water injection, decent induction kit, fuel pump & a decent tuner.

To change your boost you need a boost controller. (The natural increase in boost due to adding bolt-ons with a stock ECU is NOT an acceptable method beyond 11psi).

To go above 11psi you need an aftermarket ECU. To go above 12psi you need fuel system upgrades and a better intercooler. I think that's the maximum boost a chipped ECU can generate, so you'll need a boost controller at this point too. To go above 15 psi I think you need a 3bar map sensor. To go above 16-17psi you need another set of twins every 15k miles since they are cooking.

For maximum output you need a different set of turbos. Efinis are a nice mild upgrade over earlier twins, but they are very poor choice if you're aiming for bigger numbers. BNR twins or single is the better upgrade path for that.
