Manual boost Controller and PFS PMS.

I made two of these boost controllers. They are ball and spring type. One for pre controller one for boost controller. Can someone please tell me which side goes to acuator and which side goes to turbo nipples? I just want to make sure i don't switch them around.

Also If i want to use my PFS ecu to controll boost, since i have settings for 10, 12, and 14 psi, Should i set this manual one to 14 or to 10 or what?

Thanks guys

If you use a manual boost controller with the PFS ecu (or the Power FC either), you cannot switch between boost settings. The whole point of adding a boost controller, manual or electronic, is to prevent the ecu from controlling the boost.

This is why I recommend to people to just buy a Profec B. It's cheap, it works great, and it has two settings at the flick of a button (plus the off position if you only want 7 psi). If I were you, I would either run a Profec B or forget the manual controller and just let the PFS ecu control the boost.

BTW, I wouldn't regularly use the 14 psi setting unless you have upgraded your fuel system.

No you can control boost still the PFS. Set the manual too 10psi, and just switch between the settings.

Actually, on second thought, you are right, when using a manual boost controller, the ecu is still controlling the wastegate. However, with a manual boost controller, I could see you having linearity problems going through the different boost settings.

I still think the best bet is to either run a electronic boost controller with multiple settings or run nothing at all.

I tried that. I set it to 10 psi and it wouldn't let me switch. It switches the maps and stuff, but i still get 10 psi. Weird huh?

Have you checked the duty cycle settings for your PFS? The settings for each diferent boost level 10, 12, 14 PSI ... etc. may be set the same. A simple fix is to turn vent learn on ...

I read in the manual with the seq. turbos you should always have the manual vent OFF, always. I am too lazy to look through the manual for it but I pretty positive it says to keep it off.
