Manual Boost Controller Failure from RGM
Attention: I just recently have a failure on my Manual boost controller from Rob's RGM manufacturing. The bolt and the nut (prevents bolt coming lose) all popped off. RGM blamed the user for the faulty nut and screw. I have heard that other people have problems with the nut and screw design.
When I was driving my Rex down the highway and boosted, I heard something clank inside the car, oddly enough my boost creeped up to 15psi, man I thought I blown an Apex seal, which I though the clank came from (have no idea what it sounds like when an Apex seal blows). Anyway I drive my car conservatively until I reached a place where I can park my car and see what is going on. I found out later that the bolt and the protection nut came off and that was the problem with my boost creep.
So anyone that is looking for a manul boost controller, watch out for the bolt and nut design, get some more reliable controller and spend that extra few dollars to get a good boost controller, like a Hallmen or something of that nature. Better pay a few extra dollar on a better boost controller, instead of a blow Apex seal for like $2000+.
Hope this helps with anyone that is looking into purchasing a manual boost controller.
