Magnecor 8.5 mm wires ... two part #s, two prices ... difference?

Anyone know the difference between the two part numbers for the Magnecor KV85 Competition Ignition Wires?

45287 tends to be in the $55-60 range.

45101 tends to be in the $40-45 range and sometimes has an asterisk beside them. I believe this is a newer product.

I can't find an explanation for the asterisk. I haven't decoded any difference between the two based on description. I've found some places that only sell the 45101s in the $40 range, alongside the 10mm wires.

Anyone keen on the difference between the two?

Mazdatrix has 45101 listed as their part number for the 8.5mm wires.

Thanks! If that's the case then I'm going to assume that the 45101 is all that I need.

I would call or e-mail Magnecor and ask for clarification. Looking through their catalog, they do list a '96+ FD application, and the later plug wires are different. You wanna make sure you get the right thing!

They do seem to list both the 8.5mm wires and the 10mm wires for the FD as well.

You can download their catalog in PDF format at magnecor.com

Thanks Dale.

I had checked out their online catalog and I believe I saw one of 8.5 mm part numbers listed, but not both. No help there.

I will email them, though.
