Loudest Freaking Possible Exhaust System?
#26
I didn't really care. I rarely lost in my MR2 anyways. I happened to be going up against his RX7 and a Trans Am. After looking around I've concluded he had a Racing Beat dual w/ midpipe (later switched to dual N1s - yes it was THAT loud), downpipe and single turbo setup. His exhaust just didn't have the outter tips...I remembered that it was a wierd looking thing but his car combined with the industrial area was aweful. It was as bad as the kart racing at Texas Motor Speedway.
I'm happy with my GReddy SP except that it looks stupid. Can't win em all I guess.

What does loud exhaust have anything to do with being a Ricer? Most those Hondas if you want to call them ricers have loud exhaust true, but come on. They're mostly hi comp motors what do you expect? LIKE RX7s AREN'T LOUD. We don't have the DEEPEST exhaust tone in the world. You want loud bro, read my post. I made above. It's pretty much the loudest you're going to get utilizing the stock twins since it has a 4" to 3" converter pipe. Want anything louder than that you'll need to go single and run a full 4" exhaust like GoodfellaFD3S. I guess he's a ricer too since his exhaust is probably louder than all who have posted in this thread. Sounds pretty damn good too...

And yes, the OP is a ******* ricer. And yes, he should crawl back to Hondas.

Jeff, don't go dragging Goodfella's exhaust in with this ricer's request. Rich didn't run around begging people "Pretty pretty please, I needs to haz the loudest car in the world." He had his exhaust custom made by A-Spec with 2 resonators(in-line mufflers) and a muffler. So he did what he could to get it as quiet as possible while maintaining the 4" exhaust.

You might be right, I've only heard 3 exhausts for the FD though...Mine, 3" downpipe, 3" resonated midpipe, 3.75" HKS Super Dragger cat-back. My friend's old FD, 3" downpipe, Bonez high-flow cat, 3" RB DT cat-back. And Rich's FD, 4" all the way through with 2 resonators and a straight through muffler.

I'm sorry if asking a question that didn't fit your conservative, linear mold offended you.
I'm not going to have a really working sound system, and I just like things loud. And this isn't a daily we're talking about. Plus, being loud would imply having the most free flowing, largest tube diameter exhaust possible, which is another characteristic I'm after.
The term ricer is getting thrown around way too liberally.
And I never came from Hondas, thanks.

I understand you Farkel. I grew up with Nissans, had a SR20DET 240SX myself (SOLD it for a Power FC, HKS RS Intakes, and FLuidyne Rad for my FD HAHA) and wanted the loudest damn exhaust I could. A`PEX-N1 twins weren't loud on SR 240s like they are on FDs though. I knew you didn't come from the Honda scene, though I've had one of those also. I wouldn't even call my old Honda a ricer. It beat my stock FD (My friend bought my old Honda and beat me with it the same day I bought my FD).

Who the **** cares if he called you a ricer or not? I have been called it before from bwm owners just because I own an import, or because people dont like my headlights or my rear bumper, and personally I could care less. If you go to your car and when it starts (assuming it does start on the 3rd or 4th try) and it makes you smile then thats ALL that matters, not some jackass who calls you a ricer on a meaningless forum that already clustered with useless information. It just like the people who call everyone a ricer because they have a body kit besides 99spec. I am so sick of this ****.

If you really want a loud exhaust, do what the previous owner did to my FD. He fabricated an expansion 3 inch to 4 inch coupler, bolted it to the 3 inch DP, then got some 4 inch exhaust flex tubing. ( the ones used in large portable generators to vent its exhaust) It was not a pretty sight to look at, but size does matter in this case (that's what she says all the time!)
Ran it all the way to a 4 inch straight through muffler, no MP, straight through! Man it was so loud, I needed to wear eye plugs. My neighbor says he can hear me from a half mile away.
It attracts allot of attention, especially from the cops. I don't have it anymore it drones too much, was losing my hearing. But you need to tune it right otherwise overboosting will happen. But one thing I noticed, is that the FD used to spool up faster before than now.
Good luck on your sound project!
