I Found These In A Drag Racing Magazine So I Went To The Web Sit . I Know Its Mostly Domestic Parts But They May Make These In A Universal Application. Here Is The Link If You Want To Check Them Out ... Hands Down Has To Be The Craziest Combo Ive Ever Seen

drag racing brakes = one time only, heat not a consideration. Besides Ferrari's have two seperate calipers on the rear. One is the parking brake. This is nothing new.

Vipers have that little rear caliper for the parking brake too. Lots of high end cars have them since the damn things roll on so much rubber. That much brake pad surface area isn't necessary unless you have some real wide wheels that aren't of large enough diameter to use bigger rotors.

Does anyone in this thread realize that your brakes aren't what determines stopping distance if they're large enough that they won't fade at the speed you're stopping from?
You can only lock them up, or preferably, with threshold braking or ABS, stay just on the verge of lock up. Past that point, do you know what's stopping your car? Think hard...

they may work well for drag racing but are not designed for a "sportscar" application. the rotor has no mass to absorb the heat. secondly the second caliper masks the rotor so it is less able to radiate the absorbed heat. they would warp in 15 minutes of driving on a canyon road or at the track.
as Jim L indicates, once you can lock up the wheels any further gripping force is wasted. the issue w the Fd is rotor mass not the calipers.

If your brakes are good enough for repeated braking without fade, then your tires are ultimately your stopping distance factor. Get some nice warmed up r compound tires and I'm sure that you'll stop a lot sooner.

I agree with Howard and Jim Lab..
So, what do you guys about this set up that I saw last weekend.. It was on this NSX that I saw.. the guy was an *** and acted like he knew everything.. I personally can't really see how this would improve braking.. or is it just for looks?? I could see that it could lower the mass and maybe made with some special material to lessen the warpage..
