A little paint goes a long way... 56k beware!!
So I recently painted my stock rims with this paint that caught my eye one day at Home Depot. I have learned to love it. Its not quite gloss, and its not quite flat. Its called a metallic. It actually has some metal flake in it, so it looks deeper than other spray paints I have seen. This has been the cheapest mod I have done for my car, and the reasults have been some of the best. See for yourself....
The paint...
The process...
The outcome...
Old engine bay...
New engine bay...
I highly suggest this paint. It hides brake dust very well and its super durable. Hope you like it.
Oh and BTW, Im planning on painting my UIM and TB once I have a need to take them off. I just havent gotten around to it yet...

They key is to clean the rims very very good with laquer thinner before you try to paint. This paint tends to fish eye real bad if its not spic and span..

thats not paint....
The rims look really nice, just as good as my powdercoated ones... makes me wish I saved the $$$$$$$.
Wouldn't painting the fin portion of your SMIC add a layer, decreasing heat transfer? I was always iffy about this because I painted my computers radiator (watercooled) and noticed the temp was never as low as before the paint.

I masked off the finned portion.
"whats that hole in your IC ducting for?"
Its for the PFS intake if you have one. I just have it capped off.
