Lightest street legal Fd's??

Im trying to get my FD to weigh in at 2700lbs without me. yes Ls1 powered, but its been proven that it virtually weighs the same provided the Ls1 isnt Ac or PS equipped. Reguardless of the LS1 and i dont wanna hear any **** about it... What are some of your Fd's with weight reduction weighing in at?

Looking for street/strip cars. I dont care about stock weights, im talking people with some serious weight reduction. List if your car is a touring, R1, R2, and some of your weight reduction.

Im going to run one kirkey alum seat which weighs 11lbs i believe. (stockers are 35ish each) No A/c, PS, heater motor (everything gutted from under the dash). no ABS, rotary extreme sleek headlights, probably 1lb lighter (woo hoo). momo wheel, passenger airbag removed, no windshield wipers/motors/rezzies in front or rear. Tar scraped up, no carpet, genesis 8lb battery, 10gallon fuel cell (saved a little bit) and rollin on 15" prostars all around with skinnies in the front. One harness, OEM seatbelts removed, and a CF hatch with lexan which saves around 40lbs. I think a bone stock 93 touring with the bose system was 2788lbs 100% stock. Does that sound right? I think i can acheive 2700 without me. How sick would is be if i got her to 2700 with me (175lbs)

Lets see some light FD's!!!

P.S. cross drilled rotors too! haha j/p

Mine is a '93 touring (13B with stock twins) and weighed in at 2680 without me and just a hair under a full tank of gas. Weight reduction I've done is removed A/C (heater remains) and P/S, cruise control, removed the bose system, 3" straight pipe from turbos back, all solenoids and emissions gone, R1 strut bar, heavy Greddy 2-row FMIC, 17" rims that are a bit heavier then stockers, a heavier then stock aluminum radiator, and RE CF sleek headlights. The headlights did actually shed a couple pounds. Car could be a lot lighter if I tried, just need time ... and money.

I think a certain forum member got down in to the 2300lb range.

Removing the front wipers/motors/nozzles would definitely not keep it street legal anymore.

I'm guessing that would be the least of the problems with the OEM safety belts and air bags having been tampered with. I'm not sure what laws are in other states concerning this though.

i got mine down to 2624 with 3/4 of a tank in it which i guess makes it about 2525 empty.

its a base model and the mods are dp, mp, catback, no spare or jack, lightweight flywheel, no ac, no ps, no rear bins and a smaller battery.

The airbags I doubt are a problem. The safety belts perhaps but I'd be surprised if they gave you trouble if you had a 4+ point system. Either way though, at most taking out the OEM belts will save you about 2-3lbs each. No reason to not just leave them and avoid the hassle.

My fault, I was thinking of insurance purposes- I got the two mixed up. I know tampering with those safety devices wouldn't bode well with the insurance companies.

Removing the OEM seatbelts is a ticket in most places. Some places allow you to if you use the factory mounting points.

I dont see the airbag and OEM belt removal being a problem here in chicago. Cops are mainly looking for people using their cell phones while driving, LOL. In my civic when it was in my eyes deemed street legal, i ran with a harness, one seat and no dash. Now thinking about it, im sure officer friendly wouldnt have been too happy since my dash VIN wouldnt have been present...

In reguards to the removal of the windshield washer/wiper assemblies. Do you drive your FD's in the rain??? SHAME ON YOU! haha. I dont drive in the rain with any vehicle unless i absolutly have to. You can be sure, the FD is not going to be drivin in the rain or even on days where rain is in the forecast at any point.

Think the member "gargamel" (sp?) claimed once he had gotten his FD in the 23xx range. Anyone testify to that?
