Lets be realistic. How difficuly is it to rebuild this engine?
I have wide open access to my friends shop with all the tools I need, an engine lift, car lift and can get some parts at discounted prices. Me and my friend are pretty goot with cars and can do all basic repairs, but weve never taken apart an engine and have never messed with any rotary. If we had a step by step with pics im pretty sure we will be able to do it. Do you guys think I may be underestimating this?

It's not very difficult at all, you just have to be a little careful. Get the Bruce Turrentine video from rotary aviation and you will see exactly what needs to be done. And it doesn't matter what year car the video is for, the relevant engine parts are basically the same.

no, thats impossible.
go to somewhere like www.rotaryaviation.com and buy the kit - housings and rotors you have to see how you go as you build it.

I recently purchased the Rotary Aviation video.....it tells you part numbers and what parts need to be ordered....I'm in the middle of my first rebuild right now....but i've built honda's before i decided to get a real car...Ray at malloy is your friend an gives AWESOME prices....malloyautomall.com call em ask for ray. Its not really difficult if you pay attention to detail and have a friend inspect some parts for you (i had ron up at D-R auto look at my stuff as well as Lupe). Don't be afraid to call shops they'll be happy to help you out. Alex at Gotham Ron at D-R, Lupe, Jason At rx7store.net.....all very knowledgable.

id say go for it dude. There is only one process that requires precision in the whole rebuild, the rest is just plain measuring and putting stuff in places and being careful and meticulous.
The only part you can fuc up beyond repair is clearancing the side seals, and even then a single side seal isnt that expensive. After that, as long as you can measure, read, and hold a spanner, youll do just fine. Ive just finished my first rebuild, and it feels good!
