my sister taught me stick in a 92 protege..she was a pretty good teacher..she taught me how to react quick to the clutch grab point and throttle control..
i stalled only once and that same day she taught me (it was at a big *** park, kinda like a road course ) i drove the car home the same day without stalling/grinding..
and now im a damn pro haha

i nvr owned or drove a auto for more then 30 mins. i hate those cars, its so boring... just gas and break.
i learned off my first car it was a civic. i got the civic during high school and 2 years later i have a FD now. i'll nvr own a auto, i have owned 5 cars and its all been manuals.

well my first car was an 87 dodge shadow i learned on that, would take it out on some midnight cruises when i didnt have my license, its the only way to learn by yourself...ive owned all manuals except for my 91 talon tsi awd turbo, but i havent driven that thing for more than a total of 10 minutes

lol well this turned into lets bash automatic transmissions. I learned manual on a 97 civic, which belonged to a friend of mine, i saved money for 2 years for my fd and it ended up being my first car. So its an automatic, i got a good deal, and i didnt have the extra money for the manual at the time. I do wish i had a manual, but i dont think autos are as HORRIBLE as every one makes it out to be. Its been well over a year now with my auto, and i admit their are times that i wish i had a manual, you know when you are in the mood to drive. But it is my daily driver, and im not sure i would want to bedriving stick early in the morning or in bumper to bumper traffic. Hopefully soon though, ill have enough money saved for a 5 speed swap.

Probably a dumb move, but when I purchased my FD and the previous owner handed me the keys, that was pretty much the first time I ever drove a stick. I then had to drive it from NC back to Florida. It was nerve wracking.
I toasted the clutch a couple times, but nothing serious. Now, it's really weird to drive someone else's manual. The clutch feels way too light and you can't feel it engage. Seems like as long as you're somewhere in the middle-ish of the 3 foot throw, you can shift fine. I push the clutch to the floor with extreme force until I realize that I basically just have to rest my foot there.

yeah i was in love with manual trannys since the time i can remember..i mean i dont hate auto, its a great invention but manny tranny will always be more fun to me, even when im 60 years old and prob SMG has taken over completely..
i mean all my cars were stick, and i had quite a few lol..only car that was auto was my civic but that was given to me by my grandma cause she was getting old to be driving cars (smart lady )..and i still have it to this day..******* most reliable car i ever driven..only thing i changed was the oil, coolant and brake rotors and thats it..
every other car i bought had to be stick, which it was..
