I know they're not corroded, my car got a new paint 3 days ago and I checked them all.
I don't know how I could have swapped the bulbs, the rear bulbs are yellow... I'll check the bulb numbers anyway.
I recently worked in the column steering to install 4 gauges, I hope the problem isn't there...

In the rear lights, look at the side of the bulb holder housing socket (indicator bulb socket, either side of the car). There is one wire that slips in the outside of the socket, and touches against the side of the metal socket (think its an earth wire) it gets slightly corroded and this happened to me.
You cant pull the wire out or clean the corrosion and its hard to fix. I found a dressmakers pin and pushed it down between the wire and the outside casing of the socket and moved it around to get a better path of contact. See if that helps.

And, 20 year old electrical systems are generally prone to neglect and eccentricity.

If you just had the car painted, I would look for a bad ground for those lights. It is possible that a ground was disconnected while painting and then not put back correctly. An open ground will look the same as a bad bulb, but you might still be getting some "blink" due to grounding through other circuits.
You can check resistance to the battery through the sockets, and if this is anything other than a few ohms, you need to look for a ground problem.
I had headlights that were dim because of a similar issue once.
