Lazy Wastegate?
Hi all.
I've been working on getting my Profec-B spec 2 tuned properly, but keep having problems with a spike on the primary. After a while I just shut of the profec, but had the same spike still. So, I don't think it's the profec causing the spike.
The spike only occurs following the initial spool up on the primary. I.e. I put the throttle down, boost builds, brief spike, immidiately returns to normal. It also seems to be dependent on the rpm at which I apply WOT. Right around 2800 - 3000 rpm seems to be when this occurs. Above or below that the spike is smaller to non-existant. The spike itself seems to be approx 0.8 - 1.0 psi over the final boost. It's very brief though, the profec will register it as the highest obtained boost, but won't even engage the limiter, which is set to 10.5. I tested this mainly in fourth gear, but seen it in third as well. Second gear seems ok.
Mods on the car are DP, CB, and slightly modified intake.
Anybody got an idea what to look for? I'd really like to eliminate that spike if at all possible. Thanks.
