Your butt dyno is optimistic...I can tell 255 from 275 hp. But I couldn't tell between a 255 and 265 hp FD Rx7. I can definitely tell betwen a 255 and a 305 hp FD Rx7.
It's like when the '95 M3s came out with 236 hp, and then in '96 they came out with 240 hp. Oh boy! Same with Porsche. They came out with a 270-hp 993, in '95. In '96 they released Varioram, and the 3.6-L flat six made 282 hp. I could barely tell the difference 12 hp made. Now torque was more noticeable at the lower end, but not much else.
No I stand by my 20-hp butt dyno difference.
Uhh...you haven't been at any of the drivers education events I have instructed at have you..?

If that's the case, then I must have gained at least 20 hp when I installed my CB, because I most definitely noticed a power increase, especially in the low end (primary turbo) stage (and it wasn't the "gee, the car sounds fast" illusion). Not so much after the secondary turbo kicked in. Although I did have a K&N replacement stock air filter. I think if your is calibrated correctly , you'd be able to notice a 10-15 hp increase in acceleration in the lower gears-- although a 10-15 hp increase on the very top of the power curve might be difficult to notice. The FD's power/weight ratio is good enough that relatively small power increases like that should be noticeable if you're a good driver. Just my $0.02 worth....

No, I haven't attended a "drivers education" school per se; only a Derek Daly driving school.

I have an old butt dyno...which just means I need MORE hp for me to tell a difference. That's bad for my wallet! I'm hoping to add 100 hp more next year, but that's another thread.
Derek Daly Academy eh, so you do know where you're coming from when you talk about driving skill...
Funny you bring up high end audio. I have a polarity invert switch on my Adcom GDA 600 Digital-to-A converter (stand alone DSP), and believe or not some music CDs sound better with the polarity INVERTED. It's said that most record producers don't keep track of the polarity during the original recording sesssions, so it's a 50/50 chance that your CD is produced with the proper polarity or inverted polarity. There are those that say they cannot tell the difference, but I can for whatever reason. I don't think I can hear BETTER than someone else. In fact my wife claims I can't hear her most of the time (hee hee )
Anyhow, music is my first passion, which is why I needed to get the quieter Racing Beat dual tip exhaust, lest I lose my hearing ability forever
BTW, I did write "my butt" dyno, not kento1's

I had the Trust Sport Catback for 5 years. The noise level and 5-inch tip got played out after 3 years of owning it (damned Honda ricer boys ) With a high-flow cat, EVERYONE knew when I was rounding the bend...nothing stealth about the Trust to be sure!
FWIW, the new RB Dual tip still gets loud when I get into the gas hard. I think it's because of my high-flow cat being less restrictive than the stock cat, and thus a much higher noise level...

(rather then start a new thread)
Can someone do me a huge favor and snap a picture of this bracket installed on your RB muffler??
"5. Attach the muffler canister to the chassis-mounted retaining strap using the “short” bolts supplied."
The Tanabe CB installed right now is just hung, and I was at a total lost on how the RB one was installed. haha
