I have both the painted and polished, painted if i recall correctly is no longer available...the only gripe i have with the polished one is that the mounting (right side of the canister where it bolts on) is slightly askew...checked both grade and exhaust with a level...and its not readily visible to the untrained eye

As I recall from an "old" Racing Beat catalog, the current RB exhausts are the old ones they sold PRIOR to the RSR muffler canisters, which came in either dual or single, black-painted or full polish...
When I was considering buyihng one of the RSR designs, I had RB fax me a cross-section diagram of the painted/polished RSR single and dual tip catbacks...the dual tips muffler canisters used baffles, while the single 4-inch tip RSR used a straight through design (no baffles).
The word on the big list was that the RSR single tip flowed better than the RSR dual tip because of the straight through (perforated tube) design...but the dual tip was apparently quieter...
It seems RB has gone back to their old muffler design using their "old" (I mean '95-'96 or so) internal Y-pipe design. The Y-Pipes (also perforated tubes) lead to the two 3-inch tips...as you can imagine a Y-pipe design will flow better than having exhaust gasses bounce around in a baffle setup as was the case in the RSR design...
I haven't heard an actual exhaust note comparison, but I've read the "old-and-now-current" RB dual tips emit a deep tone, with just enough volume for people to know it's a performance exhaust, but isn't loud enough to attract attention of the local So Cal law enforcement...

Haven't had it on a dyno, but there was a noticeable improvement. It's totally subjective, but I'm guessing its 5-10 bhp. Probably closer to 10. In any case I'm pleased with the performance, as well as the sound.

Finally got my Racing Beat Dual Tip Catback installed PROPERLY TODAY. The old hanger bracket from the stock muffler was missing, and I drove around with the new RB Dualie for a week with the muffler canister hanging too low. Amazingly it took a full week to get that damned hanger bracket thingie (black-painted no-less?). Anynow I wondered if the bracket was installed properly. It appears to be, as everyone else's black bracket is showing when veiwing the RB Dualie from the rear of the car ?
The tone is much quieter than the old Trust Sport Catback (old school, 5-inch tip). I run a high-flow cat with a downpipe, so the noise level still gets fairly high when you get into the throttle a bit. The low rumbling at interestate speeds is much more tolerable with the Racing Beat Dualie vs the old Trust.
The aesthetics of the latest generation Racing Beat Dual Tip is beyond reproach. I love this exhaust! It is well worth the $515 retail price I paid at AIM Tuning www.aimtuning.com

I recently installed a used RB dual tip. I like the quiet but deep idle sound. It looks like a really high quality piece of equipment. Installation was easy too. RB got it right.

SleepR1, Yes my black bracket is showing. It wouldnt of worked if I tried to attach it to it the exhaust from the back. My guy at the dealer got me the bracket in a couple of days, since the exhaust that was on my car didnt require it.
I went from a Apexi Dual N1 to the Dual tip. I noticed a bit of a power loss, but I didnt really like all the attention the Apexi would of got me on the streets. Way too loud for my taste.
But I love the RB dual tip. Excellent build quality and gives the car the stock look. And if anyone wants a used Apexi Dual N1 with about 6K miles on it PM me. I got one for sale.

I also have the RB dual tip and wouldn't trade it for any exhaust out there!! I think that the sound is wonderful. Just loud and aggressive enough to let the person next to you know that you aren't fully stock, but not annoying loud like too many of the single tip CBs out there. Plus the quality of workmanship is far beyond most of the other companies out there. If Jason is gonna do that group buy I'd say you're making a mistake if you pass it up. Just my .02 though. Hope if helps.

I have the older Dual fully polished and must say it's the BEST sounding CB with a midpipe ! Even with a midpipe it gives a nice deep tone until you get on it ! Once you get on it wow it sounds great !

I'm glad there was only way to install the RB Dualie. BTW, I did like the old black-painted canisters. Talk about ultra-stealth. I didn't notice a power loss. I think seat-of-the pants hp changes require at least a 20-hp change?

Could of just been in my head since that car wasnt super loud anymore. Or since I had my big old fat friend with me in the car when I was driving it around after the swap. Who knows? Just glad the car doesnt have a big old cannon on the back of it now...
