Koyo Radiator Drain Plug Bad?

Just installed a brand new koyo in my fd and when I shut it off there is a small leak coming from the drain plug. I've visually checked the upper, lower and small hose that goes from the ast to the radiator and there are no wet spots. Has anyone experienced this problem before? The stock drain plug on the factory radiator should screw right in correct? Also, does the koyo plug have the plastic gasket like the stock one does? I never unscrewed mine but I guess I'll find that out later when I swap plugs. Thanks in advance.

If I remember right....yes the stock will fit the Koyo and there should be a rubber gasket...

Almost 100% sure on that.

Make sure the gasket is in place. The stock plug should be the same.

I had the same thing happen to my Koyo first time I installed it. I ended up threading in a bolt with teflon tape on the threads and then just tightened it down. I don't have any problems with leaks now!

For anyone reading this I had the same problem with my Fluidyne. For some reason the plant seams to forget one important rule wiht metal----EXPANSION. The plugs are brass and the radiator is aluminum teflon tape is a must.
