Koyo Rad with M2 Med SMIC and M2 Cold air intake ..any probs?

Well I guess that I should have asked this before I went and bought the radiator before doing the research. Brief moment of stupidity I guess. Well anyway anone running this combo? Any problems arise? I guess I was so happy to get by the WAF (Wife aproval factor) that I got a little spend happy...

Heh... good question. I have the Koyo radiator and thinking of getting the M2 intake but I have a feeling it won't fit w/o some cutting of some parts... I'm thinking of waiting for the CW intake because I think it sits a little lower overall than the M2 intake.

Tight!

I put in the SR Motorsports Ultimate Rad with the M2 intake and I had to reduce the size of the A/C condensor mounts to drop the rad down tom allow room for the intake box to drop low enough to allow room for the intake pipes so as not to hit the hood....but eventually it fit. SUCKS ****!

So, what is the final answer to the question: Will the Koyo fit easily with the M2 intake and M2 medium SMIC?

The Top Radiator inlet (right under the intake box) is going to rub. Actually, the box is going to sit down on the hose and slightly pinch it shut. I haven't noticed any problems, but I am in the process of cutting the M2 box at the corner where it touches, to allow proper clearance. I'll post pics of the rubbing whein I get home. Anyone else see this?

I modified the radiator supports to allow for correct install depth... however the thickness is what I believe causes this.

Justin

There should be no issues with the IC fitment. Just the intake.

I have the RX7fasion cold air box, its identical to the M2 with the exception it sits a little lower.

you can pick one up at www.rx7fasion.com or www.ricksrotaryperformance.com

I have the Koyo radiator, the RX7fasion cold air box and i'm getting a M2 Large.

Thanks for the replies. I have the intake and SMIC already, but not installed. Getting the radiator next so that I can install it all in one fell swoop. I'm thinking I should just get the Fluidyne and avoid fitment hassle. If anyone else wants to relate their experience, please chime in.

I have installed two Koyo radiators in cars with M2 intakes. One of the cars (my own) has the older black aluminum box and one had the carbon fiber box. I had to bend the lower brackets slightly and modify one of the A/C condenser brackets. It wasn't really that big of a deal. Do a search for koyo and my username and you may find some more info.

FYI..

Had I to do it over I would have got a Fluidine. Everything sits up higher when you get the KOYO. I had mine professionaly installed, but the Koyo core is so big, that it destroyed the fan shroud and the koyo core pressed agains the passengerside radiatorfan motor and it burned out the motor 2 times. I had to have the radiator lowered and get a new shroud. Now everything is fine.

Do a search on Koyo and Intercooler and you will see Im not the only one with that problem.

I have KOYO radiator, M2 carbon fiber cold air box with the new M2(ASP) medium IC. Everything fits ok. The Koyo need to do some mod and is a bitch to install. you need to flip the bracket on one of the ac condenser. but that just the radiator itself. The Cold air box and IC are tight fit. but after you install both the hood will hit the intake and the ic slightly. I don't know how to lower them because the spot is all the way down already. But after all I would say they will all fit no problem.
