Knight Sports EBS3 BC + solenoids

Hi there

I recently acquired a nice set of this BC that came with solenoids.

The install seems to be quite easy but I would need directions as for the solenos and how/were to plug them (hoses).

I know Dale Clark made a write up on the install but no way to access the site anymore.

Does someone has installation manual or saved the Dale's write-up?

Thanks

They're 3 port solenoids just like almost all the other aftermarket boost control solenoids out there. 3 port solenoids are basically all the same. They work like 5 pin relays actually. If you can't find instructions, here's what you need to do first.

Draw out a diagram of the solenoid on paper.

Try to blow through each port of the solenoid. Record whether the port will allow air to flow through (open) or or will not allow air (closed).

Apply twelve volts and ground to the solenoid. While the solenoid is energized (make sure it stays energized), blow through each port again. Record whether they are open or not.

The port that is always open is your COM port.
The port that is closed when the solenoid is OFF is your NC or Normally Closed port.
The port that is open when the solenoid is OFF is your NO or your Normally Open port.

What is your setup? stock sequential twins? Since it's Knight Sports I would think it is FD specific. So one solenoid is supposed to go to precontrol and one to wastegate, but I have not used it. normally you connect the COM port on a solenoid to a pressure source and the NO port to the wastegate actuator, with the NC port left vented to atmosphere. Then the other port on the actuator is capped.

I was wondering if I must hook these up to turbo precontrol & wastegate control actuators or turbo precontrol and turbo control???
As they come in pair I would assume 1st solution to replace the stock pair, but wouldn't 2nd solution make sense?

The turbo control valve is not used to regulate boost. It opens a door in the exhaust manifold to spool the secondary turbo. It runs on vacuum and pressure (as opposed to just pressure). Unlike the precontrol valve it is not duty controlled.
