Way more power and faster turbo spool up, and then switch it over for a quiet ride and great emissions.
I also agree with slapping a factory seat into the passenger side for grandma. Bonus points if the drivers racing seat is the same color as factory seat (maybe get it recovered?)

Think of Cheezefrog's civic.

They have alternates picked to so if/when someone can't make it they already have backups. A pretty killer Miata is the first alternate, 400whp totally upgraded with someone who placed in the top 5 at nationals in SMII this year driving.

well the car is coming along well, the clutch and diff are in, went with the exedy twin plate and the kaaz diff., all that is left is the water injection and paint and lots of tuning, we went with the yoko advan ao48's, 285/30/18's on all four corners with the ccw wheels..we are still taking donations to offset gas/lodging costs, the paypal is on here somewhere, i can't remember what it is, we have recieved a good amount of cash and we appreciate anything you guys can spare...thanks again to all the guys who have already donated..i will try to get some pics up of the car soon...this car is sooo very evil, no expense has been spared and my bank account reflects this...we will put on a good show for you guys...thanks again to all the guys @ gotham racing, those guys have gone out of their way to help me out...steve, rich, alex and ihor are great guys who run a top notch shop...

If you guys want to setup an exhaust cut-out, I know I guy locally who makes a really cool one. It has an electric motor attached to a switch, so you can cut out any time you want. Available in 2.5 and 3 inch, maybe more. They can handle turbo heat at the bottom of a downpipe on highly tuned piston engines so I imagine it will last at least long enough on a turbo rotary to do the emissions test. Let me know if you want more info.

I totally forgot about this thread (since I'm not on the forum all that much anymore).
I agree w/ Jimlab and Kento in that you should install a RaceLogic traction control unit. I don't remember if the Supra last year had it or not.
Here is more info on who your competitors will be:
http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthre...b=5&o=&fpart=1
You can read about their various mods to gauge where the RX-7 stands.
BTW, what type of backup supplies are you guys planning to bring? Every year, some car ends up busting a hose or something...so what are you guys going to bring? All of the guys involved w/ the USCC are nice guys. When a car breaks down, everyone tries to get it running again. Get a list of supplies, and I promise to help send money via Paypal soon.

A human with the appropriate skill levels is able to use their experience to maximize performance at a higher level though probably not as consistantly.
The unpredicability to the driver on what the system will do to control the car is usually the cause of the lost time. If the system could directly interface with the driver's brain letting them know what is going on then it probably wouldn't cause problems.
I'm not familiar with the particular traction control system you're speaking of but in the BMW E36 M3 caused much slower 0-60 times and '60 launches than a good driver with the system turned off (my own experience in talking with friends that owned them). Some slippage at launch is ideal (or you don't have enough HP/throttle on) but the TC system stops the car from slipping at all.

You got cash!!!
Jason, Steve, and all you guys at Gotham kick some *** out there!!! I's really like to see a FD dominate. Its amazing the reaction my car still gets the rare times I take it out on the road around here.

The car is almost done. It's being painted as we speak. I'll take some pics tomorrow when it gets out of the paint booth (its nice to have a paint booth here. )
Anyways, The car was tuned to 18psi on pump gas (runs pretty descent but not enough to get high rwhp yet so we plan to bring 20 gals of race gas and turn the boost up to 24-25psi. We're hoping to shoot for 500rwhp in this car on race gas. We plan to install the water injection tomorrow and fabricating ducting for the radiator to allow more air flow. We got the A048 285/30/18 tires (front and rear) on the CCW wheels. It looks awesome. things are coming along (slowly but surely). I still need to do some tuning for fuel economy (expecting 26mpg). The only thing that concerns me is the engine since it seems to smoke a little (oil). We didn't have enough time to build a custom electonic MP cutout and highflow cat setup to pass emissions so we plan to bring some methonal with us to at least help with the pollution.
If any of you in Ca area can come out next weekend for the contest, let us know. My cell # is (817) 683-5715. I'm sure we need as much support as we can up there since I can only able to bring limted tools in the Van.

ya, that car belongs to Andrew Campbell. It's a 2.2 stroker with a turbo kit. I don't think he's that good at the road course but we'll see. either way, it should be a fun event. Pics will come tomorrow before we leave.
