Congrats guys. It sounds like the car held up well aside from a few teathing problems. They awarded points for aftermarket body parts and stickers? Maybe this isn't the type of competition you should be trying to win

honestly......your 7 did deserve to be at least in the top three. It was a VERY sexy looking 7. Sorry to hear it went so bad. I remember it was SH** for the MK1 and last years MK2 MR2. Good luck next year.

thanks for all of your support guys, we had much higher hopes as well, most of the things that went wrong were my fault, last minute hurriedness, oh well, at least we got to go and the car didn't blow up, everyone there was taking bets on when it would pop. everytime it would back fire everyone would be like ooooohhhh, there it went...again like steve-o said, we weren't real sure exactly what they would be looking for, but now we know.....my car wasn't really the best suited for this event, they called about 1 month b/4 the event and told us to be there, the car at that point still wasn't running, we worked night and day trying to work the bugs out and throw the parts that we felt would benefit us the most.....the water injection was the key, i feel it is what helped the motor survive, along with the tuning by steve-o....i am not unhappy with the car, it was a learning experience for all of us, the competition was fierce with some major dollar cars there, i would have like to have done better than we did, but i'm not the kind of person to dwell in the past so i will continue to make the car better and better......thanks again....

if not, i can understand that as they're jealous of rotaries engine and their capabilities.

not sure what the intake temps were, i can ask steve if he data logged them, they were low i remember that much....also not sure what the elevation @ willow springs was, it was damn hot though.....funny side note, the car survived but our van died in the mojave desert, the mass airflow was getting too hot leaning out the motor, we eventually made it home a day late...i thought that was kinda ironic...

when i ran the uscc (blue rotary 510) we ran @ fontana and it was 106 degrees... i was having serious overheating problems, during the burnout my car got to 270, and on the road corse after about 1/2 a lap it would be at 250. i got a zero in driveability, they dident like my giken twin disk. the elevation at willow is about 2500 ft

Hopefully Gotham will get into next year's USCC and dominate. It's a shame that it's mostly a rice competition, and a competition for driveability. The last thing most people think about when building a "near" racecar is driveability..
