PASSED this time with a quick pass. However, some of the numbers were up, including the HC at 25mph. I hit the max of 53, but avg was low at 13. NO in 15mph droped from 739 to 683, but NO at 25mph went up from 138 to 574 with 738 as max. However, I only drove for only 2 miles with the alcohol to the smog station, and the car was not as warm as last time, car was on for 15 min instead of 45 min last time before test. But who cares, as long as you guys know it is possible to pass with high flow cat. Oh yeah, tanks was almost empty, light was not on, but poured in 1 gallon of alcohol, then went to the gas station and poored in 4 gallons of 91 octane.....Good luck to anyone else that needs to pass smog and hopes this helps you.....as for me, I'll be sleeping easy for another 2 years

They do care about the inter cooler. I just went thru it. In Cali it must have an EO to pass visual. See http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermk...es/amquery.php for approved parts for smog.

Can anyone else confirm this?

Adding alcohol to the tank, you run around 20% to 25% alcohol and the rest gas. Alcohol burns about as clean as you can possibly get so emissions can be greatly affected. Problem is it only has about half the energy of gasoline so really you end up running lean so you have to be careful.

No, it DOES NOT.

That is a page straight from the CA State smog inspection manual. You can clearly see that intercoolers do not need an EO number if they are used with the stock turbos. It's unfortunate that you had to deal with an ignorant smog shop.
