Just replaced my door lock light again

Wow, my car doesnt have this feature working... I never knew it existed.
But I have seen the small white wires hanging loose whenever I remove the door handle. I think they fell down inside the door or something.. Where would I find them/where do they connect? I'm guessing I'll have to remove the drivers door trim to find them or something??

Yeah, just pull off the little interior triangle panel and then the 2 10mm nuts and the door lock/handle assembly comes loose and you should be able to see the wires pretty easy.

Replacing my bulb today with that grain of wheat bulb.
When I connect the 2 wires the light is on, without having to lift the door handle. I read the light stays on for around 15 mins (which seems long to me).
My concern/question... it's just the door handle that triggers the light to turn on, right? Is there something that triggers the light to turn off (on a timer)?
I'm worried that the light is just going to stay on forever... which is obviously no bueno.

The light will stay on whenever the doors are open, and should illuminate for 10-15 sec following when the driver side door handle is lifted (with the door staying closed, like if the door is locked). It will also extinguish about 10-15 sec after all doors are closed. If your lamp is on for minutes in these scenarios then something is wrong. I think this circuit is controlled by CPU #2, so this could be flaking out. also check to make sure your dome lamps are working correctly, if a switch is grounding the door lock lamp will never turn off.
