Just installed new M2 medium...

It's likely the M2 airbox is pushing your IC over too far on the Battery side. Everything was laid out to provide about 1/2 to 1" gap from IC edge to battery. Sounds like Jeff's battery setup might be a good option since you have the M2 box.
As for the numbers stamped on the IC if it's what I'm thinking of it's a stamped number in the armor plate which is supposed to be on the underside or flipped upside down to conceal it. Sounds like the fab place made a boo boo. I'll talk to them to make sure they keep a better eye on that in the future. Sorry.

I took a look at your picture there and yes, that airbox is pushing it over toward the battery too much. You can see how the pipes come into the IC. They're shifted that direction a bit and not perfectly lined up. I'm sure it'll work fine but it should fit even a little better than you're seeing.

I think the point he's making here is that it's not a hard detail to do (polishing) but it is a time consuming thing. His intercooler kit focuses on the things that many DIY's don't have the know how or tools to do and he addresses those things and addresses them well.
as for spending 5 hours each to polish things sure he can do it but he neither wants to nor does he have a chineese friend that will sit all day and do it for 0.35$ a day. but he see's it as something that the DIY guy can do on a tuesday and wednesday night for little cost but time.

Well he could get a truckload of polishers in Lynchburg, Virginia for $0.20/day, but shipping costs would eat up the savings.

Look I wasn't trying to offend anyone here and in no way was I insinuating that anyone racially works for less. To those that took offense, IM SORRY. What I am saying is that products we buy from other countries have more time consuming and labor intensive things done to them for a lower cost simply because the people work for less american dollars.

Wasn't it Koreans? I recall seeing news coverage of this in the early to mid 90's. The Japanese essentially have a slave labor class of illegal Korean immigrants that the Japanese government turns a blind eye to because it would kill their domestic economy if they had to pay real wages to Japanese citizens to do the very low level labor intensive work. I'm not suggesting anything about Koreans btw. Come to think of it I remember when I saw that. It was when they had the big racial blowup over the Japanese having a very popular black doll that had the exagerated huge white lips and eyes like the old Little Black Sambo stuff. Anyone else remember that?

ASP with airpump
Use a hammer dent the top section of IC pipe for a strut bar, next rotate the clamp that holds the air pump intake pipe and rotate the intake nipple as well, screw down clap install med and large asp IC. I have seen this done on a number of FD's with airpumps and the ASP IC.
