don't do any engine and exhaust mods unless you can afford to upgrade the engine management system (fuel delievery and ignition control) or you will run a lean mixture and blow the engine.

Thumbs up

Congratulations on your new FD.

The first thing to do is get all the maintenance work done first. Change all the fluids and install some new spark plugs and get some Magnecor wires. Also, change the fuel filter, which should be changed every 30,000 miles. I change mine every 10,000 miles.
As for mods here are the steps I would do.

1) get into the group buy for the radiator.
2) fan mod
3) change the AST or eliminate it.
4) boost gauge
5) stainless steel downpipe
6) exhaust
7) intake
8) upgrade the ECU with a Pettit's unit, Power FC, or a Haltech
9) ic
10) upgrade the fuel system
11) have fun destroying every car on the road.

Also, make sure not to increase the boost without getting an ECU and ic first. If you get an ECU you can run 12.5 psi and not cause any harm to the engine. Anything over this without upgrading the ic can destroy the engine. It would be helpful for us to know where you live so we can tell you which shop to go too and which one to stay away from. Good luck.

hey dude, i'm supprized nobody mentioned this,

the FIRST thing you should do, is get a downpipe!
thats mod #1

also get a boostguage, just incase theres something crzy
goin on with your boost, you dont have to get a permanent one,
you can pick up one for 30bux at kragen, also get like 10ft of
vacuum line, so you can string it thru the window.

oh yeah, and it's NOT a good idea to eliminate the AST,
just get a new one if your old ones busted, aluminum is
good.

I agree with Reckless - a lot of people will mod the hell out of there FD w/out taking the proper precautions and Kaboom! Start with plugs and wires, definitely change the fuel filter - get a boost gauge and have someone replace your vacuum lines - already you'll have $500-700 in labor and parts but it is well worth it to protect your FD. Start with a dp since the stock precat puts so much stress and heat on the engine and turbos. Then exhaust, intake, ECU, fuel pump, ic, hi-flo or mp. A radiator is very smart as it helps keep things cooler by 15-30 degrees. Then enjoy your new beast!
