Congrats on the car! As for issues with the PFC, there is a whole sub-forum dedicated to it. I'd go there or wait for answers here, or you might start another thread more related to your specific issue as lots of people might skip this one as it just seems to be a "hi, just got an FD" thread from the title.

The smoking after hard boosting can have a number of reasons, from the benign to the 'oh ****'. Keep in mind these cars actually inject oil onto the rotor faces and thus some gets burned at all times, it is literally designed to "burn oil".

Not sure about your experience level with rotary powered cars and especially the FD (3rd Gen RX-7) but you MIGHT want to take it a bit easy until you sort some things out, read the FAQs, and talk to some knowledgeable people. An improperly tuned or running FD can go from together to apart in an instant....

Didn't you ask these sort of questions before you went about buying the car? Did it do this when you took it for a test drive?

Again it could simply be fixed with a tune up or some minor adjustments but like bajaman said it could also be something more serious.

Smoke after boost is a problem that has common causes among many cars. What color is the smoke? Blue? White? Black?

blue = oil
white = coolant
black/brown = excess fuel

EDIT: Oh yeah, welcome to the site.

a few issues hav wrked themselves

cars idle leveled out and is actually running really good. Noticed oil press guage stays realllly low, then when car accel. , it moves up. NOTE: just had an oil change 30minutes ago, mobile 1 1030 (i think) full synthetic. Is this weight too light. I am in alabama and it is 105 here. I would usually run a little thicker weight??? I have owned 5 turbo talons AWD, but have a new passion and love...my fd. One of my worst case sener. is a bad motor, I love this car so much i am willing to drop 5g's for a motor...quick.

O yea the car has 75,000 miles. Orig motor...i think. I have every recipt on the car, it came with a big azz folder.
I am taking the car to a rx7 tunner shop tonight at 8pm to get the computer dialed in a few others.
I am the hapiest guy in the world !!!!!!

Ack! I'd be using 15W-50 or 20W-50 in these conditions.
Won't even go into the 'don't run synthetics in rotaries' discussion just yet....

Great Update !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got the car tuned last night and did SEVERAL pulls on the dyno. OH MY GOD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Car stopped smoking all togeather !! The uys who tuned my fd was f'in awsome. He worked his azz off doin it. Fist pull was ay 237 rwhp. I have a ton of mods car. All unness. vacum line....gone etc etc. Front mount, large injectors, gredy boost controler, greddy intake elbow, t60-1 turbo, stainless exh manifold, atmospheric ex dump(**** it;s loud!!) blow off valve, and wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much too list. 2nd pull on dyno went 268 rwhp, then a lil under three. My tunner (Walkers Dyno Tune, Trussville, Al.) said car had mods to get to 400..easy. BUT...... what good is all that power if ur only glna have it a damn week cause i dropped a f'n rotor lol.

Thank u so much o rotor gods for the insight!!
OK 1 more question...whats the best type and weight motor oil to use?

For the price, it's tough to beat good ol' Castrol GTX 20W-50.

Yep, I use Castrol GTX 20W-50...

I was going to say, sub 300 for those mods is ridiculous...

Maxlife should be good for the oil seals, BUT the coolant seals and apex seals(aka disastrous and prevalent points of failure) are metal and require no conditioning. Keep the oil clean(3000mi is pushing it, even synthetic). marvek mystery oil, in my experience, is a good gas additive for a happy rotary. Make sure(above all) that you are runnin high test, high quality gasoline.
