Hmmmmmmm I was at that Gainesville meeting and met John and a bunch of people from the Tallahassee area. Was great to meet everyone and have John sign my RX-7 book. He should be back home in a week or so.

John is a great guy, I am glad you finally got to meet him. I guess us DC guys are lucky to have him show up to all our meetings.

Why's everybody think JD is a "great guy"? I know he's pulled some reprehensible *crap* over on the big list.

Well, I think he's a great guy because I have no other reason to believe otherwise. He was friendly and respectful and willing to support the FL club.

Whatever he did on the big list I can't comment on because I wasn't involved.

Far as I'm concerned, he's straight with me.

JD sometimes overextends himself when trying to help people in the Mazda community. He makes deals that he later has trouble following through with in a timely manner. This has been mostly due to his never ending legal troubles with PFS and the bills associated with it. Rest assured JD is a good guy and always follows through in the end. I know it has been frustrating for a few people on the big list and JD knows this too. If they give him a chance he will likely make amends.

"Rest assured", huh? You don't even know what incident I'm talking about (and it's nothing related to JD "following through in the end.").

Speaking of juries, did Nathan Freedenberg get sentenced to any time? I hope so.

Hey I dont know Johns personal buisness with PF but when I needed turbos and everybody around here wanted an arm & a leg. John cut that price in half basically. Plus he got them to me in a week and was willing to let me make it in payments. Johns a super nice guy towards me. So Im happy to see someone wants his autograph. I wish someone wanted my autograph. Then I could get more booty!!!!!!!

Speaking of good old Nate...
Unfortunate for what happened but that was a great event nonetheless.
Were u there? I've always assumed most that were participants at the time has since moved out of the 7 scene. I'm still here.

I'm still here too, Amp! I didn't go to the Mid-Ohio event that Nathan and Duff put on, but on the strength of their first success I sent Nathan $375 for the imaginary Road Atlanta school that he ran out on in December '97.

Several of us pursued Nathan through the Maryland Atty General's office, and in May 2000 I got a letter from the US District Court that Nathan was convicted of wire fraud. I never heard what his sentence was, tho. I'm long past thinking we'll ever get our money back, but maybe 'ol Nate got to be someone's jail buddy for awhile...

Maybe not well known outside of the Baltimore group, but Nathan wrote Mid-Ohio a bad check for $15K for that first event. Altogether I figure he stole about $25K from other RX-7 people that year. Someone close to Nathan knew damn well what he was doing long before it became public knowledge on the big list, so he was enabled to take in a lot more money for the Road Atlanta thing.

Regardless, that's in the past and I'm more careful with my money now. And I buy my parts from the Left Coast.

No, I don't think it's my place to do that. If anyone really cares, they can go to the Big List archive for June of last year and read about John's public fit-throwing (followed by a disingenuous make-nice) over something that Rotary Performance of Manassas, VA, was doing for him.

I would like his autograph on a check.
For the time being, I'll leave it at that.
