JDM Recaro srd's in FD

From what i have found in past threads on hear is that the JDM Recaro srds are smaller than the US Spec seats. I currently have a set out of my car that I am selling and am debating whether or not to sell them with the car. I love those seats and if i can use them in my FD then i would definately hold onto them... So I am asking if anyone has used a JDM recaro SRD in an FD, if so where there any complications or drawbacks? I have also have a magazine with the 02 R-magic RX7 and he has recaros, but in the description it says recaro SR3 seats. So any insight on these matters would be greatly appreciated.

Lucky for you, I've got a good friend who can help you answer your question:

Seriously, how many people do you expect to know that much about JDM SRD's? They can't be much lighter than stock seats, and they aren't much more supportive either (at least the USDM ones aren't). Many people who replace the seats in these cars opt for lightweight fixed-back units in order to save some serious weight.

first off i am just going by what was mentioned in an archived post about the jdm srd's being smaller than the usdm srd's. All i asked was if anyone has been able to fit jdm ones into an fd because it seems to be an unclear thing. I dont have a set of usdm ones to measure, nor do i really care how big they are. All i was asking is if anyone is running them in thier cars, then the thread got jacked by someone asking about the jdm fd seats. So i give up

Hijacked? That def. doesn't qualify as hijacking. You mentioned some out there seat, and put JDM Recaro next to it. So naturally I was curious if this was some obscure name for the OEM Recaros.

No one's answering you because most ppl on this forum won't even think about throwing in seats from a Honda into their FD. So needless to say, prob no one knows the answer

Instead of giving up, how about looking for the measurements of the JDM SRD's? A couple a years ago I was looking into buying seats for my Subaru. I found plenty of measurement info on sparco's & recaro's official U.S. websites. Recaro is an international company, so lots of their info might be in German (Recaro is originally a German company) or maybe Japanese (for your JDM seats). But numbers and photos are pretty universal.

I guarantee you will find this info for yourself if you spend 30-50 minutes searching the internet in an intelligent fashion. Google things like "Recaro official site" , "JDM SRD measurements" , but if you want the real info, I'm pretty sure that they call them something other than SRD in Japan. Sorry I don't remember what it was, might have been something like SRX or SR-D , or SR-(some number).

it doesnt matter that they are from a honda they are still recaro srd's and are pretty much the same as other srd's. I looked through recaros web site but there is so much **** on there i just gave up. Plus for the jdm specs on their website, if they even give em.... I cant read japanese so it would be a lost cause. Back to what i was saying...what i found in a post on here from a while ago is that the jdm srd's are smaller than the usdm srd's. It doesnt even matter anymore, i am probably going to just sell them with the car and pick up non reclinable seats for the fd
