JDM FD Touring X suspension question

JDM FD Touring X suspension question
Hi,
I have a 1992 FD3S Touring X model that I imported from Japan. It has an automatic transmission and sunroof/bose stereo/leather seats like the North American touring model.
However, my question is about the suspension. I understand that the North American touring model came with a softer suspension than the R1/R2 models, and I'd like to know if this is true also for JDM touring models.
Does anybody know if the JDM touring models came with the R1 spec suspension?

Hmm.. It could be that it's been swapped.
That said, I've never driven an R1 RX-7 to compare to know what it would fee like. I consider the suspension in my RX7 stiff, but not back-breaking.
It's stiffer than my 3.2 CL-S with Koni Yellows set to full stiff. The stiffness is most apparent on uneven roads as they car really doesn't absorb any bumps.
The only reason I care is that I might be able to find a cheap R1 suspension setup at an importer, and I don't want to buy something I already have...

IMO, it's not worth to change the suspension out unless you are going aftermarket. Why trade out a 17 year old suspension for another 17 year suspension? If you are going to spend any money, update it to something newer.
