ITS BEING AN RX7--help

i have a stage 2 streetport with a t-78 and all the other stuff that would be expected......i take my car out an race it in cold weather. the engine n turbo have about 1500 mile on them and half was break in.......neway i do the race (win) and when i pull up at the next light my car stalls out... i push it into a gas station and let it sit while i examine the engine...dont see any thing. me and my friend try push starting it and it turns on finally but has less power and stalls out in the driveway to my house as i pull up. the next day i put all new plugs in it caz the old 1s looked fouled and the car still wont start...it turns over and u can hear the starter wine and little bumb noises come from the exhaust so i no theres pressure so what could be makeing it not turn on...help

Have you checked to see if the car is flooded?! Is it getting fuel?! Maybe the hose to the MAP came off?! Could be a number of things.

Looking at the picture that you posted, it has a blue hose going to it. Its on the drive side, on the left of the MC facing the car. It will say BOOST SENSOR if I remember correctly. Its just a small rectangle black box. Follow the whole hose to make sure its not disconnected anywhere!

Theres several ways of doing this and everyone has their way of doing it. I'd start by pulling the the fuel pump fuse under the dash on the driver side and try to start the car. If it starts and runs just fine, then its a good chance that its flooded. After that you can let it run until it dies. Or you can remove all of the plugs (make sure you mark them so you know EXACTLY where they go) then make SURE the wires are no where NEAR the plug holes and make sure where the wires connect to the plugs arn't close to each other. Crank the car for about 15-20 secs. and see if gas fumes come out, if so, its a good chance you are flooded. Continue to do this once every 30 minutes, until you stop seeing/smelling fumes coming out of the plug holes.

Check your battery terminals, and clean them, even if they don't look bad. Also make sure they are nice and tight. My car died on me once in the drive through because my negetive terminal wasnt tight even though it was on the battery.

I had a stereo shop put in some wires for me and they put on a new power terminal (3way) Everytime I would get on it the car would almost die. The battery terminal kept touching the body and grounding out. I was pissed off!

Just thought I'd share...

haha man youve got nothing but problems!!

anyway I had this problem when I bought the car:
also...for some reason 1 night my interior dash lights went out...and that also took out my tail lights and parking lights.....might be from snow salt n $hit but even so where would the wire be...not a burnt fuse..there all good everywhere
the problem for me was that my wiring harness was corroded, the wires that control dash lights, tail lights (not brake or turning tho) and parking lights is all the same. My fuse was fine but there was a break somewhere in the actual wire which is something that I doubt you can fix yourself unless your a damn good electrician/wiring guy. We took it to our wiring guy to get a fix but he said anything he did would not be warrantied because the wiring harness itself was damaged, low and behold a month after we got it fixed it went out again (i believe from a massive rainstorm we had)

Now here is what you should read if you want a fix I suppose, we tapped into the actual wire that runs the circuit BEFORE it had its break (we knew where the break was between from the diagrams but couldnt find physically where) which was right at the taillight, we tapped into that wire and made a switch so we can manually turn on and off the parking lights and tail lights. Its not pretty but it works, I put the switch in the drivers side of the center console so that whenever I put my seatbelt on or off I can just flick the switch. It was easy to do if you know your way around BASIC wiring (soldering, cutting in, the basics)

so if you dont have 3-5 grand to drop on a new wiring harness and an install this is the next best thing

And who tuned the car? How much boost are you running? What are your supporting mods?

If YOU don't even know what's connected under the hood, I don't understand how WE can help you!

I wouldn't think it's a compression problem, but search around, there are several threads on how to do a compression test. I will give you some advice though, next time don't race until you motor is FULLY broke in!! lol You've said the MAP is still hooked up, have you tried to see if its flooded yet?

Try having your car die several times while going through the Taco Bell drive through during lunch!!! Damn battery terminals!!

as mentioned above it could be a number of things.....i cracked two of my seals on my last motor and it did the same thing to me, it ran fine til i got to the next light when it just died on me.

my suggestion is to start with the simple things, spark, fuel, compresion......and work your way from there. good luck

I told you several ways how to check. Any of those will work, just pick one!
