The 20b if built properly can handle over 1000hp. **** we see 700+whp 13b's in fds more and more. So I think the LS1 is a great motor but not meant for the fd. Just buy a C5 vette and call it a day.

But in the end you are dreaming my friend. The reason why you are buying a jdm fd is because you don't really have the money otherwise you would of bought a local fd. You have no idea how much its going to cost to either swap a ls1 (probably close to $10000 by the time you put the motor in and tranny and fix everything on your shitty jdm fd) a 3 rotor ($25000-35000) or just reliabiltiy mods ($4000 includes new rad, intercooler, all fluids plugs, wires etc....). Just my $0.02.

First of all, I love rotary engines. I love them since I pushed the gas pedal in the first FD I ride. No other car had given you that sound and that kind of response. And I have had a Honda Civic type-R before... That rotary heart is the spirit of any RX7, this is what I think.
I would never swap any FD (only with a 20B or any other RE) as I would never boost any Honda. That's the spirit of these cars. But this is just my opinion...
But man, do whatever you want, that's easy. If you only like FD3S body and you don't want to get inside the "rotary nightmare", that's your only choice

Well, i didnt think i had to disclose, if i did or did not have the money to buy an FD, but anyways money if not a problem, ( the wifey is pretty good)did you you read where i said that i had dumped a M3 for a nice FD, i was not talking about a used M3.

anyways, this is not about money is more about relibility, see my time is money i love working on my cars but some times i dont have eneough time. in the end a good FD from japan cost the same as one from here in toronto, so i dont think that makes a difference.

But my importer will pick the one for me this time that he is goin down there, so he will make sure to get the best one out of the bunch.

Anyways i think it was a mistake to post my plans here, i would be just as **** if someone came to the dsm board and try to shove a V8 in a talon.

I will keep doing my research between the rotarys (13 and 20B)and the pushrod and see what i go with, if i keep the rotary then ill be back.

Thanks.
