Injector Insulators, Engine Rebuild, Ray at Malloy Mazda
I have just spent a day installing the fuel injectors according to the parts catalogue and then redoing the entire job when I found out the parts catalogue is wrong.
When ordering engine parts use the 95 catalogue. "Tell them you have a 95 when ordering ENGINE parts," Ray.
For all body and trim parts use you vehicle year.
As for the injector insulators. There are two for the Primaries and two for the secondaries.
The larger of the two types seal the primary fuel distrubutor to the engine housing.
The smaller insulators fit between the air bleed socket and the secondary injector.
Good luck

there are also four o-rings that are part of the diffuser for the primaries and secondaries. after you pull out your secondary injectors and their insulators you can pop out your diffusers easily. there is a small o-ring on each diffuser that is not listed in any parts diagram. this is a second gen part and the part number is....9954-10-1252
...you will need 4 of these, one for each diffuser. if you bought a reman then it will already come with the primaries as they are located in the block. these o-rings get hard just like the rest and the fuel starts to leak through them and eventually through the insulator. you will smell fuel during full throttle when the secondaries are injecting but not at idle. it is worthwhile to replace these even if it delays your progress.

hey guys if you want new fuel hoses during a rebuild order the "recall kit" I don't have the p/n handy (but it has a"13-S70A" in it I think) you get all new clamps (8 of them), 3 new rubber hoses and the hose that has the banjo fittings on it along with all the injector insulators along with some new rubber vacuum lines. This also makes disassembly easier, just cut the old hoses.
Dealer price is around $100, Mazdacomp sells it for around $75. If you order separately you'll find that the single hose with the banjo fitting is like $95 from Mazdacomp!!!

I didnt know that you could order the recall kit, last time i called the dealer it was $125 for the freaking hose with the banjo, and it think that was with the shop discount. Why would it matter if you use the 95, i've never had a problem with ordering the ones for the 93 fd, and i've order two sets of the primaries and secondaries in the last month.
