Importing JDM RX-7 FD3S from Japan?
How is the process usually to import a JDM RX-7?
I know the Skylines are a royal pain in the a$$, and they're not even legal.
Are the FD's imported from Japan easier to make legal since the FD was produced in US also?
I do know that the headlights, turn signals, speedometer, and glass must be to US specifications, but wouldn't that be on the easy side since I could get OEM parts?
Sorry for being noob, but please provide me with some information.
ThankS!

My understanding (and that is poor) is that you could import a JDM FD if it was a 92 to 95 1/2 year. Beyond those years, you simply can't do it legally in the US. The reason is almost as you stated. Those years the cars were sold in the US market. After that, they weren't so they were never DOT approved. So you are much better off just buying a US 3rd gen.
