Ok well the story goes I was looking for a FD for about 4 months now and I just found one in my back yard, here are the stats
1994 Silver R2 with mint suede interior
48k chassis miles
19k miles on mazda reman
Nice MB Quart stereo and Eclipse Double DIN headunit
The car had the turbos taken off about 1.5 years ago to do a single turbo swap and the guy got in over his head. Have a kid and now doesnt race anymore.
There are boxes and boxes of NEW never used parts.
-Full HKS KA51 (or something like that...its their biggest one) turbo kit, mani, downpie, wasegate, all V-band
-Full V-mount setup with rad and intercooler and mouting plates and side block plates.
-Brand new Apexi power FC never installed
-Brand new GAB coilovers
-JDM lower intake manifold
The car already has a Clutch-net clutch and a lightweight flywheel.
The motor is intact and really all I need ot do is install the turbo kit and the intercooler and standalone, thing is the car has sat for so long with no manifold on it, I am gonna take my buddy and push on the apex seals as we hand crank the motor to check the condition.
The only bad part...all fuel lines are gone and there is no fuel pump so I have to find out a useable fuel system to supply the massive turbo kit.
The cars body is litterally brand new. no scuffs, no door dings, the seats are the same...it's been garage kept its whole life.
He wants 10,000 for it and I can trailer it home,
What do you think??

thats what I thought...I figured best case scenario I buy a fuel system for 600 or so and tune it and I have a 11k single turbo V-mount mint condition R2
and worst case spend 1,500 more and rebuild the motor if its damaged.
You guys think the motor will be ok?? a little pushing on the apex seals and some oil in the walls should get that baby ready to be started.
LASTLY: In all honest how long would you think it would take to install the turbo, Vmount, fuel pumps and injectors, and Apexi power Fc. I am thinking 2 weekends with friends helping it should be good to go.

The V-Mount will require a lot of custom fabrication work...I hear they are more time consuming to install than a front mount, and boot rate on a front mount is 12 hours, IIRC.
I'd count on more than 2 weekends worth of work, personally..
And many many cases of beer.

The V-mount is a custome kit. The pipes are already made and have the BOV welded on already. It has the custom RAd lines....you name it...its a BOLT on Vmount

I build my own motors. Also the reman had new rotors and new rotor housings! It ran fine when it was parked, so really all it needs is some new seals. The only way the motor is blown is because of a stuck apex seal or if it broke off from sitting so long.

unless something weird happened, like water getting into it, the engines fine.
