check all the idle adjustment screws and back them all off completely. I just did the same thing and ran into this as well. I have it down to 1100 with the fans on The real bugger was the fast isle cam adjusting screw. it was causing the high revs the most.
I still have some surging when thecar is in gear and sitting still. I am going to check the TPS adjustment for fine tuning. I think that will take care of the problem. Hoping anyways since there is nothing left in that area to cause the issue
BUT: i also thinki may have a malfunctoning ICS. Idle comes down and surging in gear goes away when it is unplugged.
BTW: this is all with the stock ECU. I have the PFC to put in for him but we have to take th eengine out and rebuild the reman.

I had this issue for a short while too after I did this mod. I readjusted the idle screws, then decided to do the coolant bypass and keep the fast idle cam stuck open. Things are better but different than before. I'm idling at about 1100 now but I was idling at 800-900 before. But I really think the issue is that the block off plates don't seal as well as they should. When I take my UIM manifold off again, I'm going to either put some sealant on the block off plates or find some sort of gasket. Hope this helps a little.

i took off the tps before polishing and installed it with markets but i dont know if i have to agjust it again

Since i'm in the same diemna, i'm waiting for your results. I've been driving with the ACV disconected which brought the idle down to 1100 but I failed smog miserably. I'd like to have my idle at 700 but not shure if it will hold that low with my streetport. Hopefully it's that screw in the TB trick that's the fix. Post an update please.

This is a pretty good description with additional links. Thanks Damian!!
make sure you try the idle screws as well first before you chase your tail for hours.Probably already did

I did the McGyver zip tie and had the ACV unpluged and she idles at 700rpm's. I pluged the ACV back in and 2600rpm's. I unplug it again and 1600rpm's. What happened? Maybe I need to to the screw plug thing inside the block off plate?
