Idiot lights! Help me get them off!!!

I just got my dream car and it has a nightmare! The abs, oil, temp, and alt idiot lights are all on. The catalytic convertor light barely flashes. Then the other night I was driving down the road and messed with the radio wires and they all went off. Then 5 minutes later they were all back on. The first time they ever came on was when I hit a hard bump in the road. My baby is sick and I want her to get well! Got any ideas or have you ever experienced this type of problem?

Were all the warning lights on BEFORE you bought the car, or has this started since you bought it?

also you might have a problem with the ground wire if it connects and disconnects when you go over bumps....just a suggestion.

Also what lost time said. Did you just now start experiencing these problems?

When I first drove the car they were not on. Then half way back from the test drive I hit a bump in the road and they all popped on. The owner was in disbelief when I drove it back to him. He cut me an extra deal to take it away. He had removed the radio so the wires were laying there. The other night I grabbed them all up and the lights went off. I laid them back down and it was fine for 5 minutes then they all came back on. Picking up the wires again did no good at all.

Check for loose wires/shorts then reset the ecu by disconecting the battery and the stepping on the brake pedal for 30 seconds. If the warning ligst come back on you may have real problems with thoes systems

Hey ttpowered. I assumed that there are more than 1 ground wire. Are you talking about a specific one or all of them in general?

check for error codes

I beleive it's pin 10 & ground but look it up first.

If any of the power wires on the radio are loose, it will turn off on bumps and smacking it or the wires can turn it on. If the power wire touches ground it should blow a fuse.

This sounds like a short or bad connection. Check the ground wires. Does the ABS work when the light is on? If so, then it's the wiring to the lights.

Thanks for all of the help so far. This will get me going. Also, I would like to borrow, rent, or buy a new or used service manual for my 94 Rx-7. Where do I go and do you recommend genuine Mazda or aftermarket or both?
