yeah i had to sand it too on my 93, it was peeling pretty bad.
well with all comments, i might consider painting the ashtray then...
it is not really a fiberglass work, i just filled the holes with plastic and bondo and that's it.
thanks for all the comments.
i do some shows with it and that is why i made it so "flashy".

i like it a lot, about the a/c controls, i dont know about that location, i mean it looks cool but isnt that a bitch to be driving and want to change the tem or the air flow and have to look up and do it and like come back to find yourself veering off the road? anyways, it looks really good, very creative

Looks cool. I like the "arming" switches. Makes it look like a jet fighter cockpit. I haven't found a need to relocate my a/c controls, as I get my readings from my pfc commander. If I do decide to get more gauges I will put them in the passenger side of the dash and maybe get a dual gauge pod. Here are some pics of mine.

Here's another shot. I used this rustoleum textured finish paint that I found at home depot. I prepped all the panels by stripping off the peeling finish with laquer thinner and then lightly sanding the. Each panel has about 5 coats of paint and wetsanded between coats.

the only thing is that i can't do anymore is send my sun visor on the side windows, those damn sun visor are just too huge. But my windiws are so much tinted that i didn't need it anyway.
by the way, i showed pictures for you guys to see it but when you look at the car, you don't see it, you really need to know it is their. People ask me where i put my A/C and i need to point it so they can see. Not really obvious when you look in the car.

No the silver isn't that light. Its probably the flash doing it. Its close to the mazda silver body paint. I thought about painting the gauge cluster, but didn't like the idea. I had an extra one with the 94 textured finish so I swapped it in. The way I see it, I have strips of silver running on each door and the middle of the car so it looks fine in my opinion.

I think it looks good. Get some matching Sparco seats.
Have you considered picking up a JDM armrest instead of painting the ashtray? I maybe that something else to custom make.
I dig the A/C controls. Obviously you don't have a sunroof.
