congrats on the car. i might be making a thread like this sometime soon...
anyway just wanted to put my $0.02 in on this thread... The way i see it is that the FD, (even mint condition examples of CYM's) will more than likely never really become a "collectors item." It may someday command a higher price, but it will never be on Barret Jackson going for hundreds of thousands, haha... My advice to you would be to start slow (and use Mazda Flying M badges, not Efini) but if you have the desire to start getting serious with some mod's, just keep all your stock parts, and don't do anything you can't UNDO later... like going with some crazy widebody or something - It's a gorgeous car, ENJOY IT!

No body kits... Probably will do the 99 a spec if anything because I love those lights on the front. As far as badges you guys are right, I like the flying M better.

Dont worry about it being an original CYM. Not tuning it would be a waste. Yellow FD possesses the best "pure sports feeling." Modify it however you wish, and enjoy your hot rodding lifestyle my friend!

Shes staying as stock as possible. Only thing Im doing is reliability mods and I want efini badges on it.

Another Sac FD......
Congratulations Xearo, on picking up a beautiful car! It's nice to have more FD company in Sac - especially cars of this quality! BTW, my car is a '94 PEG that will be in the Autorama show at Cal Expo next weekend. If you get the chance to go, stop by and say hi! It'll be at the AR PERFORMANCE booth along with a Saleen (Mustang) and a Viper. AR is a new garage/ tuner shop opening up in Old Elk Grove in February...

I would leave it stock besides all the reliability mods and maybe full exhaust and intake. I never liked the Mazda "toilet bowl" emblems, efini emblems look good but I think the best oem looking emblems would be the newer "Flying M".
I have both the '99 Spec. front end and "flying M" emblems on my CYM and I think it makes the car look even better than stock, but whether you keep it stock or go crazy in modifications have fun, thats what its all about!

We should get all the people in sac together to have a little rx7 hang out or something, I think that would be fun. Ive only driven my dads ferrari once and it was mind blowing. Im sure Ill get along just fine with this rx7... keep in mind my daily driver for 2.5 years was an 03 celica gts. Not a bad car, just not enough power. This FD should hold my interest for many years to come. I would come to that show in a heartbeat, but I have to travel out of town that weekend for some family business. Its important family business or I wouldnt be going... I guess I have to wait for the next show.

debadging..wheels and possible 99 spec lip is about the only thing id agree too with a cym...
would have to disagree on the modding aspect.. theres absolutely no need to keep her stock unless your plan is for resale...
mod away if your intentions are for keeps or if your satisfied with the stock power...
dont get hung up on the mileage thing....

Ditch the APEX exhaust, it doesn't fit that quality of car at all IMHO, get a stock exhaust or a RB dual tip, something classy.
