I hate not being able to drive my car!!!

i started this thread just so i can bitch about my car being down right now and not being able to drive it. its been down since april and i am shootin for it being down maybe september or november, hopefully. but i cant stand driving around all day and not being in my FD, it is the worst feeling in the world!! i also started this thead to find out how many of you have also had to go through this and how long you had you car off the road. the only thing im looking foward to in the up coming months is gettin my car back on the streets, i just cant wait. but i guess when its all done and i look at what i did to it from what it looked like and drove before, i guess it will all be worth the lost time in driving it. but yea i just wanted to hear from some of you guys that have gone through this and how long did it take to get it back up and running, and also how did it feel getting it back on the road??

Talking

month and a half for me and going but it is getting fixed very soon so Id say 2 months total. Our cars are like trophy wives, you **** them off and they leave on vacation for a couple months and you get stuck with the bill for it.

My car went down in January when the tranny went out. After about 2 months I decided to sell it and buy another fd. Had it for about a week and a stupid mistake put it back in the garage. Been there since.

But I get it back tomorrow.

So Ive been without it for around 7 months and damn Im anxious to get it on the road again.

I just recently drove my FD for the first time in 3 years. Been working on my FD project since 2001. Its rough thinking about my FD and me not being able to drive her, but i'm patient cause I know once i'm done and all the work is done correctly and done with my own hands how good of a feeling I will have once shes on the road healthy..

I just carve the apex's with my girlfriends Ion o DOOM Lol. That thing is so much fun with the body roll , it makes it very fun and the FWD makes it even easier to drive.

Hey man, I am in the same situation as you... not being able to drive the FD since march or so has me bummed out, and having to drive a chevy cavalier in the meantime is an even bigger bummer. The good news is that when it's up and running again in the next few weeks, it will be worry free and much faster than before... I simply cannot wait, and I'm also glad it'll be done in time for sevenstock!

good luck and hope she's back on the road ASAP!

I have most beat, remember I said most not all. My car has been down for over a year now. I will be just getting it back in a week or so, I'm actually calling tomorrow on the status. I haven't actually been able to see it or sit in it or touch it blah blah or anything. It's either been at a body shop or at a mechanic shop. The worse with the most stress was when the shitheaded insurance had it over at Mazda for about 2 months. Worse experience ever too. But anyways when I get it back it will be a whole brand new car!
