I can't take it anymore. Selling my car.
First off I love my car. Some would say I worship it. Got all the posters. Got all the diecast cars. Bought the car in 1999 with 52000 miles on it. Well 5 years later it has 68100 miles on it. Got a daily driver for the last 3 years that why I got such a low milage. You don't even want to know how much money I put into this car fixing it. Can't seem to enjoy the the car because I am always worry I will break something. I make decent money but nothing extra to keep fixing this expensive car. What give ? Well just found out I need new clutch. That gonna cost some money. There goes my Christmas bonus. Got a 2003 Mazda6 as a DD but I will probably sell it next year and get a 2001 Audi TT. Not as fast and beautiful as an RX7 but pretty damm closed and minus the reliability issues.

You may want to consider an STI, possibly a S2000 or something with better reliability ratings.

Yeah I thought about S2000. I don't like convertible. I know they make a hardtop but I think it cost like $ 3500 and I think the insurance on a convertible is higher too. If I get the TT I will spend alittle extra buying extended warrantee for 2 years so something like that.

The S2000 is a fantastic car with an amazing engine in it. The G35 would probably be a better choice than the TT. TT's do have reliability issues though you probably wouldn't think so coming from a RX7. G35's are awesome cars though.

No matter how much we love our cars you have to remember a car is.. just a car.. it is repairable, it will sustain damage in one way or another, it will need maintenance (especially for an FD), it will accumulate miles, and most of all (unless you want to keep it a collector car.. for example.. keep it bone stock with under 30k mi) you should ENJOY DRIVING it.. Sure we can idolize our cars but if it comes to the point where we idolize it soo much we are afraid to get in it because our surface skin cells will shead inside it.. we are going a little overboard.. We all know how much the costs are to fixing our cars, but you should have expected it before you even bought the car.. Our entire life (note I say entire ) should not be based on our cars.. because when that happens it is not a hobby anymore.. it is an obsession..
btw: if you want a more 'reliable rotary' why not a rx8?

Man I love the car. It nothing out there look that beautiful and I love that fact that it rare. But at some point you got to ask your self if it worth all that ? I means I added all the bills and I wonder. $2000new paint job( was fading), radiator, injectors repair, fuel injector o ring. leaking oil pan x2 ( still leaking), all the realiable mods, new rims and tires, new shifter, exhaust, bushing kit = $5000. When is enough is enough ?

well i wouldn't have gotten rims. and i would, and recently did get a decent 10$ shifter at autozone of all places. with a little electrical tape to seat the screws, it doesn't twist, and with some loctite on the screw threads they wont back out. 50$ sparco ****? no thanks. it takes ingenuity like that to keep a massive POS like an FD running.
then again, i am tired of my car too and it is for sale. get a used s2k or something fun. i doubt a g35 coupe would be near as sporty a drive, but those are really nice cars too.
don't worry about it, there is nothing wrong with being tired of a car.

just get the honda. you will be very happy with it. 3 years from now you will have had no problems with it if you maintain it. now if you still have the mazda or get the audi your basicallly going to keep sinking money into (money you will never get back once you sell the car) and it's going to **** you off because a large part of your paycheck goes towards just keeping your car on the road.

*Cough* Sooooo...how much you sellin' your fd?
j/k.....Don't waste your money on and audi TT. It won best gay car of the year. (no joke) If you're getting anything, then you better get something just as fast and nice. Try looking for a R33, or maybe a clean Supra, or well built VR4. Something sweet....No audis....
How about a 966TT? lol...lots money for that one...

Some of you guys crack me up. A frickin' clutch? Wah. Cry me a river.
Go blow your motor, time after time, for reasons such as bad tuning, overboosting, and *bad gas* then come cry to me.
Some people just aren't cut out for FD ownership. I mean, if you want porsche/nsx performance at a bargain price, you have to pay sometime. Personally, I pull on new Vipers and Z06 Vettes, which is one reason it's all worth is to me. It's all about the cost/benefit analysis.......everyone has to figure it out for themself.
