Constant threat
As others have said, if someone REALLY wants your car, they'll get it. A guy I work with is an ex repo guy, he's got some great stories, even discounting half of them as bullshit...lol! But a tow truck built for this stuff can get in and get out with a car in just a minute or two if it's parked outside.
I keep mine in my garage, but I also have a remote starter button that isn't easily usable if you don't know where to look. I figure it gives me one more 'layer of protection' against the casual car thief. (Kudos to SA3R for that phrase)
To be honest, crime is so non-existent where I live that we leave keys in the cars and houses unlocked, and every old biddy in town knows what everyone is doing at all times, lol! Obviously most don't live in cities like this. It would suck to have to worry about your car being stolen or your **** fucked with in general...

I live in a gated community , and some guy parked in the emergency vehicle spot so they called a tow truck , I Have never in my life seen someone tow something so quick he just wnet in hooked him up , and left the guy had gone up to get something from his house which was infront of the emergency vehicle spot for 2 minutes when he came down just intime to chase the tow truck driver speeding off at about 30 in our 10 mph zone. LOL
I have a loud dog, keep the car under a cover, have a viper alarm with paging, and I block the car in every night with another one. I will have it in a shop/garage soon enough. If they are fast they will be pulling out of my driveway with it on a flatbed before I can get out of the house with a Glock, Kahr, or most likely an 870 pump shotty. I think the best deterrant is the cover and the good neighborhood that isn't a through street. People don't see it, and those who do have no idea what it is unless they pull the cover. If they pull the cover, I come greet them.

fuel cut switches and the FC rev limiter do sound like good ideas... I live in a apartment complex and only have room for one garaged car. I have to decide between garaging the 300zx twin turbo or my soon to be rx7 :/ I live in a ghetto area so i'm kinda worried about it.
