For all here with that combo would you sell yours and if so how much would you ask? I am only interested in low miles original paint cars.

Low mileage FD's....

I understand the body and paint are probably very nice, but think about how many times that engine sat for looong periods of time. This is probably with the original coolant and oil changes done by mileage.

The battery terminals have already been replaced too. That's pretty odd considering that at 130k mine are corrosion free.

Yes, that's very true. Special attention should be paid to make sure there isn't a coolant seal leak. A big cloud of white smoke that smells like anti-freeze would be a very bad sign. Make sure you can start up the engine from cold. No pre-warming by the seller.

Hello,

How do you know the Battery Terminals have been changed? Is it from the pictures? I am not that familiar with the FD with the exception that I know its an amazing car.

I am told they have all records but will need to confirm. As well I will need to have it checked for leeks and compression at a Mazda Dealer or specialist that knows these cars.

You can tellf rom the picture that there is a clamp-on style terminal replacement... easily so because it is missing the battery cover. It's a pretty odd thing for a 14k miles car to have done to it.

If I were to pay big bucks for a 14k miles car, it better be nearly mint from nose to nose. You may feel differently and there are advantages to an older car with low low miles. The thing is, there are things that can happen when you don't drive a car and it isn't stored properly.

My experience with the OEM terminal connectors were that they tend to stretch easily, making them difficult or imposible to tighten. And I've gone through two battery covers on my car from someone leaning on them. It may be low mileage but it has been 15 years.
Something to consider, but IMHO at this stage I wouldn't read too much into it.

Hello

I was about to pass up on the car. I asked the owner about the battery terminal and he was not sure. He was going to ask his mechanic about it and that it is possible he changed them if they needed to be. When ever the car needed anything he just said yes. As for the battery cover he just doesn't bother with it. I also asked for a compression test and his mechanic said that they are very hard to do on a Rotary if to be done properly and prefered not to have to do it himself and he (the mechanic) would rather I bring it to a Mazda deaker that can do it since he heard not all can.

Update from previous second owner

Hello All

This is the email I have received from the previous second owner of the car.

[OPEN/QUOTE]
"Hello,
I did not repaint the car and as far as I know it wasnt repainted. I
owned the car for 2 years and put little to no miles on the car so
I did not have to service it. Carfax shows that there are 13,000
miles or so on the car from when I sold it. I own a 95 rx-7 with
60,000 miles on it and ive driven both. The 93 is very nice and
ran very well for the time that I owned the vehicle.
Thank You
[END/QUOTE]

So far the car seems to be checking out.

I think he was just trying to figure out what that car he is looking at is worth by asking you if you "were" to sell it how much you would ask.
