26, had the FD for a 14 months. It worked fine the first two months, then coolant started leaking. Then boost pressure went away and I got exhaust leak in the engine bay, and I drove a few months with these issues.
Got a local Mazda shop to fix the exhaust leak which was driving me nuts (some smoke and lots of noise). Paid lots of money for that repair which happend in january (then the car had been in the garage since september/october), got the car on the road 1st of february and drove it for 3 hours before the engine blew. Well worth the money!
Started rebuilding the engine and doing all the modifications I could find. Got it back in running shape few weeks ago, still tuning it in and looking forward to the new HP figures. The car is breathing and cooling much better than before. Streetported too
Paid $30k for the car and used more than $12k on repairs and modifications since I got it. The car just passed 58k km, so milage is pretty good.
Good thing I'm in the software industry or else this wouldn't be in my budget, hehe.

I am 14.
I dont have my license yet but I drive my FD on the gravel roads at our farm to stay good at steering and such. I just finished my freshman year of high school and I am going to be a engineer after i finish college. I don't drive my car on the streets much anymore since the last time i did i almost got pulled over. I ran and bounced off a guard rail and had to find a fender and a door panel and a wheel to fix it. so now i have a 95 montego blue/brilliant black fd. But I am getting good at drifting on the dirt roads, but I am sad now because the gravel is messing up the paint around the wheel wells and a rock must have stuck in the tire and flung out cause it broke my drivers side mirror. And a cat must have slipped on the hood, but I think I can buff out the sctraches.

58, system analyst and Medical Technologist. Not the oldest, but close. Bought my 93 touring in 93 with 4,000 miles. Have spent ~16,000 since purchased. I love the car and keep it in storage most of the time since I do not have a garage (ex got the garage, oh and rest of house).
Just purchased a 86 GXL ~6 weeks ago with only 92,000 miles. It was in great condition.
Now I just need a 1st Gen to complete the collection.

I'm 32, I own a wine company and make wine here in Australia. I have owned my late 2001 series 8 for 18 months. Apart from running costs, I have spent about $5000 on it. My favourite mod is my 3" Varex exhaust which has a remote controlled butterfly valve which I control from the cabin. When the valve is closed the gases divert through the muffler, and the car is very quiet but lacks power due to back pressure. When the valve is open it is a straight through system, bloody loud and powerful, the wife hates it.
