How often to replace plugs, fuel filter?

I think it's been 5-6000 miles for me. Idle after letting off the throttle quickly is crap. It recovers instantly, but I can tell its having problems.

Is it time I get new plugs and a fuel filter in there? Or are my problems elsewhere?

Fuel filter is normally 30K, plugs really depends on your car and driving style. I replace mine every 6K. 10K is also common. Just take one out and inspect it. A old fouled plug will normally cause a less than perfect idle.
